I cried through the 70’s
Got drunk through the 80’s
Got married had kids through the 90’s
Partied in 99
Got disappointed through the 00’s
Got even more disappointed through the 10’s until 2017.

Sean McVay has got me excited again, we’ll see what the 20’s bring?

That’s 5 decades of a wild roller coaster ride being a RAMS fan.

The Rams being bad in past years doesn't make me feel any better about this year. In those years it was obvious the team was bad. This year they are a good team being held back by a bad QB.
Nah, its the entire offense that has issues. OL can't stand in and orotect on a seven step drop or when we are in predictable passing situations.

They can't run it when teams know they have to run it. They rely on the passing game to set up the run game.

And the offense is compressed as nobody fears that anyone on this offense will run by them. Thus everything is within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage with defenses sitting on those well known McVay routes. That has to make it very difficult to complete passes and avoid turnovers with so many bodies in that tight area.

That also makes it very difficult to create consistent offense since they have to score on 10-12 play drives due to a lack of a big play threat.

Not saying Goff has not forced things at times, but it has to be frustrating to get a big play right now.

All good points but I still feel like Goff is a total let down. I think he's a turn over machine. He is a panicker under pressure. You never know what he will do when there is pressure. Maybe he'll make a catch-able throw or maybe he'll run up to the line of scrimmage and throw a bullet at someones ankles from 5 feet away. Or maybe just make the throwing motion but the ball goes in some random direction. Or maybe he'll run for it and slide just before the marker.

He is pretty good when everythings going right. Good blocking, WR getting open, etc......But when things get tough he falls apart.

I'm one of the ones (nearly) always trying to calm things down recalling how in the 90's and late '00s we'd have cut off arms and legs to finish 9-7 while chasing down a playoff start.

it is true that in days gone by we would have been over joyed to get to a 9-7 record but a lot of that joy would have been because we were improving. i think if we had 9-7 record for 10 years and showed no improvement we would not be so happy with 9-7. most fans just want to have hope that our team will keep getting better. i could probably live with 5 super bowl in a row then a loss but only one loss than back to winning all the time

It’s been a hell of a ride for me as well since ‘79. I agree perspective is important.

Think about Aaron Rodgers. One Super bowl win. 10 years ago. If he don’t win it this year he probably retires with only one. Or the Marino’s of the world with none.

It really is a team sport and having a team with a winning record is a blessing that older folks tend to understand.

I still can’t believe we lost to Buffalo and Miami. A rookie QB beat us. He’s on the bench now I think

That’s what is so tough about this season. None of us were expecting the defense to be elite, not like this.

We could probably go far if the offense was just mediocre.

i guess you're too young toremember the early 70's?

We ended up losing the Conference Championship to the Vikings almost every year. Seemed like we could never get the home field advantage and ended up playing in the freezing Minnesota weather. We had our great defenses and they had the Purple People Eaters. The games were all low scoring slug fests and we never could get enough points.
We lost to the Vikings and they lost in the Super Bowl.
We finally made the SB in 79, but lost to the Steel Curtain in a Great game.
There were a lot of great defenses back then.

Well, the Cowboys and Vikings between them made 9 appearances in the SB b/t 71-80. We made the other.

I became a fan in the late 70's so only endured the '77 mud-bowl and the '78 championship loss.
