The reason why the Rams play the defense they do is because its what the talent level on Defense allows.... Plain and simple. The Rams are made to out score teams.

Look at this: we ranked 5th on the league for turnover differential and had 26 takeaways with only 15 giveaways. That means that our defensive philosophy actually put the ball back into our offense's hands 26 times this season.... Please tell me that you're not too dense to understand? Want to be nice to you even though you are just a stranger on the internet... This game is complicated but the more you know the more interested you become.

So why did they play that way with Aaron Donald, Leonard Floyd, Jalen Ramsey? Sorry man, you're just wrong. Regardless of that awesome presume you offered.

Damn you man!!! Do you think logic is going to convince the illogical?

I will say that I would refrain from acting like you know more than everybody whenever it is painfully obvious that the current NFL is the Andromeda to the Milky Way of your Pop Warner league. You have to keep learning man.

To act The way you have been here is just pure laziness.

Not wanting teams to beat us over the top doesn't mean we want them to beat us underneath or nickle and dime us to death

Williams, Spoon are in need of upgrading, who knows what we have in McCreary yet

I would love a longer more physical CB and I think that would help Forbes and Durant or Mcreary and the issue of receivers running free.
1 good CB will make a difference, yes two would be better

Lake is fine and really our safeties play isn't bad and with a solid #1 CB we would see a pretty big improvement.

There are at least 3 top CB's that I would like to see drafted and no the 5'9" DAngelo Ponds isn't one, I think he is an absolute dog but I want size.

McCoy, Delane, Cisse all have size and can run.

@13 we can get a top CB according to way to the "way early projetions" which leave our pick @ 32 for a top 5 or 6 WR and I have an eye on a couple that would fit the biil

Thats 2 starter quality players

That's not how defenses work...

Assuming your defense is going to be opportunistic is a blind stat. Especially against good teams.

Most turnovers are a result of the offense making mistakes.

The key is having Stafford on the field as much as possible and not watching the defense from sideline for six plus minutes and hope for a takeaway. ..... McVay will tell you that 10 out of 10 he wants his offense on the field a minimum of 30 minutes a game.

Exactly.... Offenses make mistakes when defenses force them into it.... And this defense forced opposing offices into coughing the rock up 26 times this season which is the fifth most in the league... That means that the offense had 26 more drives then they would have otherwise if the defense didn't force those mistakes.

.. And you're telling me that you still don't understand? You legit just have to be trolling now lol

The exact definition of: you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

How about this thought: cornerback was already the weakest position group on the team and then it also became the most injured over the course of the season... We have continued to just plug and play guys and we find ourselves in a divisional round against am opponent that is very beatable.... Don't seem all that bad to me.

We were 5th in takeaways this year.

So going by your premise, 'assuming your defense is going to be opportunistic is a blind stat, most turnovers are a result of the offense making mistakes', doesn't that confirm playing the Rams style of defense has worked out quite well for us? I think it's pretty obvious the answer is YES. But with all those years of higher learning (in a football sense) you probably have other ideas. Yes, you're smarter than McVay and Shula.

Nobody is arguing that.... so don't use your captain obvious rah rah to justify a hair brain argument about the Rams Defense and how McVay uses his defense to bring the best out of his offense.

The Rams best defense is their offense.

Oh wow, would you look at this! We just so happen to rank 10th for most time of possession while also ranking fifth in defensive takeaways...

If I wanted something out of you in response to that post then I would have pulled your chain... Did you see me quoting a replying to you there? No! There is other people with other conversations going on in this thread.

You answered my question

Rams offensive time of possession is by far the most important aspect to the Rams game plan.... Not the defense staying the field in hopes for a TO Captain Obvious.

Dude, if the offense was setting on the side line all game because we were playing Bend but don't break don't you think that we would rank just a little bit lower than 10th for offensive time of possession?

You're probably a shadow niners or Seattle Seahawks fan who knows the writing is on the wall so you come here to flame.
