So basically JG gets all the blame and no credit for anything the rams accomplished the last 4 years but Stafford is blameless for the Lions last 12.....got it.

I'm surprised you actually responded to my post rather than just sarcastically "haha-ing" it like you normally do.

Do you deny JG had the supporting cast last season and still fucked it all up with his league leading TOs? Because that's my whole point, which you didn't even acknowledge because you just put words in my mouth.

Honestly I can't fathom ppl not realizing how close a golden opportunity for the playoffs was blown, shown no sign of progression for 2 years, rather regression, and had a severely limited playbook to cover for JGs many issues.

Goff didnt lead the league in turnovers. Why the need to make up things? I swear I'll never understand how folks can be so infatuated with a player.

Fine. I was wrong. I should've said second most TOs the past 2 years after Jameis Winston. Does it really make a damn difference?

And yeah, I get pissed every time I see JGs name mentioned or see him play, especially this year. I legit snarl in my car on my long ass commutes of his INTS, his complete lack of pocket awareness, fumbling games away. No one's addresses the reality of just how close the team missed the playoffs because of him.. Just how I'm wired. Can't help it.

I feel for Goff. The Lions have awful WRs. It's like watching the Spagnuolo and Fisher Rams.

Hockenson, Cephus, and maybe Amon-Ra St. Brown and Swift? It's not perfect, but it's workable.

The fact you put losses solely on one player is why I give you the "haha" and then excuse Stafford for his time in Detroit. That makes zero sense to me. How you can hold a grudge against a guy who has had four straight winning seasons, That also makes zero sense. Just say you personally don't like him then it'll make more sense.

Hockenson and Ceephus are pretty good. Good pass catching RBs also.
Hockenson is great. The HBs are good pass catchers. But you need WR talent. Cephus would be the #5 WR on the Rams. He'd be a #3 or #4 WR on most other teams. He was the #4 WR on Detroit last year. "Pretty good" is a massive overstatement.

The Lions have the worst WR corp in football. St. Brown has ability, but he isn't ready to be a consistent threat yet. Cephus did nothing after the first quarter against Green Bay. In fact, he failed to reel in a perfect TD throw just before half and then dropped the 4th down pass. He was getting zero separation after the Packers put Eric Stokes on him. On a good team, Cephus is a #4 WR.

Wasn’t Cephus a rookie last year? You can’t go by that. He looked pretty good so far this year.

It’s funny. You act like he has nobody to throw to. Goff had a good first half. He was passing to someone. Then the Packers had a better second half. I don’t know why you’d feel sorry for him. He got himself in this situation. He’s not a victim.

1. Wrong. The Rams traded him. So he quite literally did not get himself in that situation.
2. Cephus has looked "pretty good" relative to the other Lions WRs. He has not looked "pretty good" relative to NFL WRs as a whole.
3. I act like he has a terrible WR corp. And how did I act like that? By saying it.

Don't know why you come into a pro-Goff thread looking for an opportunity to dump on him. Give it a rest.

Well, I can imagine the Lions going after wide receiver help. I just think that with Hockenson, St. Brown, Swift and Cephus, you have something there. It may not be an elite wide receiver corps, but it has some potential.

He got himself into it with his play.
Not taking care of the ball under pressure. Which he gave a good example of Monday night.

The thread was started prematurely. The game wasn’t over.

What am I doing here? Dispelling the excuses I keep seeing people make.

I already explained it multiple times. He had the supporting cast last year and didn't take advantage. In fact he did the opposite jeopardizing games and a playoff spot.

Detroit, as few winning seasons as they had, would've been even worse.

How you can hold a grudge against a guy who has had four straight winning seasons, That also makes zero sense.

Umm because he's regressed substantially after Chiefs 2018. How many free passes can one guy get? I'm reading that he now needs perfect weather conditions and lauding intermediate passing for a 6th year QB.

Just say you personally don't like him then it'll make more sense.

Well I personally didn't like him watching him lead an O to less than 20 points a game and having a golden opportunity for a division title pissed away.

Well ... to be fair ... he is Angry Ram

Ya goddamn right!

Somehow I had a feeling the 22-page "Goff thread to end all Goff threads" wasn't going to be the last word on the subject

Swift and Hockenson aren't WRs. And I disagree on having something there. At best, St. Brown might develop into a good slot. Cephus isn't a reliable starter. They're going to need two legit WRs.

He got himself into it with his play.

Nah, the Rams traded Goff to Detroit. And the Lions let their top 3 WRs walk. Dude did not give himself the worst WR corp in the NFL. Get out of here with that nonsense.

You're not needed to dispel the "excuses." You can go away now.
