Swift and Hockenson aren't WRs. And I disagree on having something there. At best, St. Brown might develop into a good slot. Cephus isn't a reliable starter. They're going to need two legit WRs.

Nah, the Rams traded Goff to Detroit. And the Lions let their top 3 WRs walk. Dude did not give himself the worst WR corp in the NFL. Get out of here with that nonsense.

You're not needed to dispel the "excuses." You can go away now.
And you're not needed to make them. I'm willing to bet Goff doesn't need your pity either.

Matthew Stafford, on the other hand, is an anagram for D W Soft Aftermath which, of course, denotes the fact that Stafford, having left D (Detroit) and gone West (W) will now have the kind of "soft aftermath" that only comes from winning.
Well, I thought I'd use an anagram of our QB to rename a mountain in honor of silly obese prostitutes. I'll call it "Mt. Daft Fat Whores."

And as for our former QB, I'll always root for him unless I see him in a Chiefs uniform. Then he'd just be a "Red Jagoff."

We need to liven this thread up with folks dusting off their old Sam Bradford opinions. Would make about as much sense tbh.

Fine. I was wrong. I should've said second most TOs the past 2 years after Jameis Winston. Does it really make a damn difference?

And yeah, I get pissed every time I see JGs name mentioned or see him play, especially this year. I legit snarl in my car on my long ass commutes of his INTS, his complete lack of pocket awareness, fumbling games away. No one's addresses the reality of just how close the team missed the playoffs because of him.. Just how I'm wired. Can't help it.
So you see his name and you lose objectivity? Your own words.
Fact is he never led the NFL in turnovers in any season, just the same the didnt "almost miss the playoffs". They made the playoffs. Period. And they won the first round game, with Goff at QB, and then were down only 7 on the road in one of the toughest places to play, with Goff at QB
So I get it, you lose all objectivity when you see his name. Its bizarre, but you do you. Just understand that losing objectivity isnt a license to make up your own facts too

Why? Did Sam Bradford play Monday night when this thread was created? You know, a thread about an NFL player in the Rams/NFL Talk?
Congrats! You've successfully combined trolling and strawmanning in one post. Straw-trolling if you will

Stafford is definitely a better QB right now, but good grief, don't you Goff haters remember the abysmal play of Blythe last season? He flat out sucked!

Look at highlights of Cam Akers last season, Blythe wiffs his blocks on almost every play, consequently Goff is always running left or to the right to escape the rush.

Not saying Goff was without issues, and issues between Goff and McVay were real and will probably stay between the two of them.

It's the same 4 or 5 people on either side with the same regurgitated stances that haven't budged an inch and will not budge an inch...

why don't ya'll just make a PM thread and talk about this?

The defense of Goff is starting to become obsessive
The attacks on Goff are starting to become obsessive

we're 2-0 if anyone cares, about to beat the breaks off the defending SB champs and make a thunderous statement to the NFL.

It eats at me b/c of all the passes he gets from poor play, blame put on other players (whipping boy Austin Blythe) and in order to play decent needs everything else to be perfect. They secured a playoff berth WITHOUT him. He didn't anything of note (granted his thumb was busted) until the very end of the game. GB was perfect condition where a QB should step up and make the plays when his teammates that propped him up all year finally crumbled. But he didn't and got traded a couple days later.

And league leading TOs is not made up dude. Most, second most doesn't matter. It's too high and became a big time liability, and it looks like so far he hasn't changed.

IMHO... I don't know why there are so many negative feelings over Jared Goff. However, the same can be said of Todd Gurley. This guy gave the Rams the best years of his career, and there were folks out there who hated on him because he got PO'd after being cut. Can you blame him? He was the star of the Rams, he was the team leader, and he never let the Rams (or their fans) down, until he got hurt. I still like Todd Gurley, and I rooted for him last year, just like I am doing for Jared Goff. Those guys gave us some great football, and I will always be appreciative. Much like Kurt Warner. How can you go from liking a player, to hating on them? I could see if they were child molesters, but these guys are good people. I don't care if it's a business or not... the Rams could have treated both of their stars a little better at the end, but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it, or denigrate them for poor play. Gurley got injured, Goff may have had some issues with McVay and wilted, but I would never disrespect either one of them, especially IN FRONT of other Ram fans who may have stronger emotional ties to former players.

I don't understand what folks are debating.

I dunno if I've ever said this, but can this thread be locked?

It's just folks finding a reason to argue about a past Ram.
Yeah... This thread has nothing new in it. It was started prematurely and then even the OP kinda said "nevermind". But here we are, 11 pages later at each other's throats over a player who no longer wears the horns.

I don't like to lock threads but the negativity between members is palpable to the point of being nauseating.

M-yeah...locked.
