Just thinking about who may be the Rams surprise players this year, in a positive way.

The top name that jumps to mind for me is Taylor Rapp. He's just not being talked about that much, but from what I've read it sounds like he's the starter opposite of Fuller and that he's having a FANTASTIC camp. I see some Rams fans down on him for what he's not, a great coverage safety, but I'm excited about the guided missile aspect of his play this season. If he stays healthy, I say he has a big year.

I'm wondering if one or more of the ILBs exceed expectations.

It's hard to call Van Jefferson a surprise, because a lot of people have expectations, but I think he could have a real impact this season.

Justin Hollins would be my last one. Feels like a player who is still in a major growth phase.

Robert Rochel takes over the CB3 spot and makes it so D Will is a 2023 comp pick. Ok the last part is an obvious exaggeration but I like Rochel.

Agree; feels like we really don't know what we have in him yet. Also Burgess might kill it this year--somebody will have to compensate for the loss of our leading tackler (JJ).

Garrett seems to be a top choice now for obvious reasons.
Van Jefferson I agree with too. I'm high on him and most reports seem to to show a growing connection between him and Stafford.
Brian Allen simply because the entire Rams nation wanted him gone and will now be a starter. If he plays even average and stays healthy he'll be the biggest surprise of everyone considering where he stood even a month ago.

There remains competition to shake out at linebacker… and most common line of thought is Jones will be eased in.

He may play more early than we think.

Definitely a surprise player to me since he just became a Ram! And, I think he will be huge part of the Rams Offense AND helping the Rams WIN the Super Bowl this season!!!

He will be a GREAT Pickup/
Addition to the Rams!!!

If he stays healthy is the big question for Rapp. I love a hard hitting safety. Toby Wright was fun to watch. But too many of those types have short careers. I’d rather they play smart, be in the right spot and don’t abuse their bodies with big hits.

Allen playing well would be huge for this team. Blythe was a liability in pass protection. More of the same will just suck.

If Brian Allen is the surprise player, it's a wrap. This offense will be shooting for the moon.

I like Brian Allen as the surprise player and gift, I feel I've communicated enough in the negative direction, time to turn the corner on the Los Angeles Rams Center.

As a fan of ROD for yrs and a Rams fan for my lifetime......I would say for

there is no question as to which (@ this point anyway) is the surprise player.......It has to be the reemergence of our new starting center Brian Allen. New QB & Center are big changes guys & gals!

My biggest surprises on the positive :wow2::sur:(y)side........

ILB Kenny Young remaining the starter
Interior UDFA Rookie OL'er Jordan Meredith
Reconstructed OLB Justin Lawler exceptionally strong TC & preseason performance
DE Jonah Williams

I don't think any of this is far fetched. If Rochelle is the man, it means they don't have to pay Dwill and can get another comp pick and control costs another season.

I think the main issue would be we really need three CB. Long is heading towards free agency and he needs to prove himself as well. It could mean just a short term deal for D Will though so we can draft another cb. I think like RB we should draft a CB almost every year just to keep training and cycling them.

Can any of you recall a Rams team that had so many potential surprise/impact candidates for a season? I cannot.

Even just from a single draft class. It's kind of nuts tbh. Guys all over this roster that are of that criteria. Maybe that's a bad thing idk but holy shit am I excited about this year's team.
