As most know, a lot of what makes a QB effective is being able to function at NFL speeds.
11-5 last season as a starter....effective enough for you?

We see a learning curve routinely with rookies. I have a hard time believing that somebody who was not excellent at that anyway is not going to have a fresh learning curve against live competition getting back to speed.
IDK....most of that is mental...as long as the mental processing speed continues to improve....he'll get a lil better.....I'd much rather he spent some extra time in the weight room tho.
He might end up being okay, but even if he returns to his old level - not a sure thing - he's not really an elite QB. He would have to improve considerably for that.
He was ok when he left...I'd expect him to be "ok" when he returns...nothing special. Decent...

Literally nothing is similar.
I like you....

What is so different? 2 years of production...I think they both had either 2 OC's or 2 different HC's....what is SO different? Because the differences...while slight...favor one guy.....and, we'll throw that QBR difference...which is surprisingly close, out...since yall don't like QBR.

The difference is every single stat except wins. This is like saying your two favorite foods are Lobster and Skittles.

Jared Goff’s season at 23 yrs old blows Teddy’s best season away which was also at 23 yrs old. Literally doubles his td production. Teddy barely averaged over 200 ypg. Goff is much better both stastically and by the eye test.

Though you could argue that Bridgewater had a better season at 23 than Wentz did at age 24 ;)

Goff got thrown into the NFL's worst offense without NFL level coaching, and struggled his rookie season. He got some coaching, and had a pro bowl season.

Bridgewater did better his rookie season, but then showed little improvement his 2nd year. QBR is the only thing that he looked as good as Goff - but since QBR was intentionally designed to make running QBs look better, and the Rams' system was set up intentionally that the QB should not run, that means less than nothing.

Goff threw for longer per attempt, longer per completion, more touchdowns, fewer interceptions despite throwing more.

Do you really think that after two years of rehabbing, that Bridgewater is likely to even be as good as he was in his last healthy season? I'd put the odds as fairly long on that.

Met my wife in HS.

Totally crushed on her in 10th grade. She didn't know my name. Spent the entire summer after 10th grade crushing on her HARD listening to Janet Jackson's "Let's wait awhile"...

Became aware of one another in 11th grade because we were in choir together. Crush waned a bit.

She met my sister in 12th grade and was friends with my sister and mom. We became friends. I wouldn't ask her out because she was "too much". Kinda hyper. Not really sure how to put it. I was very chill and she was very...loud. Freaked me out.

I'll never forget it. I was sitting in my living room in Arcadia, CA (I'd moved in with my step-dad after HS in Santa Monica) and was bored out of my damned mind. I literally called everyone in my day planner (remember those?). She was the ONLY person to call me back. Not even my closest homies called me back until like a week later.

So I asked her out. On our first date, she tells me, "we're gonna get married, we're gonna have kids, the first one's gonna be a boy and he's gonna be named Derek" I'm not sure I want a second date and she had our whole lives planned.

Well, that second date was a date for the ages and well...she was right.

I knew right away that she was the one for me. I asked her to marry me when I was still 18...on her 19th birthday. I think I spent $40 on her engagement ring...her birth stone in a very plain white gold setting.

And, btw, she must be psychic because we did get married, we've had 5 kids, our first was a boy and we named him Derek.

We've been together 31 years and married 28 (I insisted on being 21 when we got married because I didn't want any of the kids saying, "well, YOU GUYS weren't 21...). We've only been with each other and we're still crazy in love.

I'm super lucky because we still give each other "the utz"... that feeling in the pit of the stomach...like on a first date or before that first time with someone special. Still. It's pretty amazing.

Hope everyone can have what we have. Make the leap as soon as you know. It's worth it.

That's very, very special. Some people go their entire lives and never find anyone they truly love . . . even if they marry or go through relationships several times. Some go through several heartbreaking experiences, causing their doubt in love to increase with every devastating heartbreak, before they emerge into the sunshine of true bliss. Some to this very day have never ever learned what true love really is.

His contract with the jets is $6 mil with a $500k signing bonus and $1M im guarantees.

Compare that to the contract they have McCown which is for $10 mil and it’s all guaranteed and that should tell you who they expect the starter to be.

“He’s decent....nothing special...sound familiar?”

For the love of god tell me you’re not insinuating what I think you are lol

Yes...because he was able to develop muscle in areas that he probably has neglected over the years.

Total TD's.....2 years...because I said their stats over 2 years is very similar.....Teddy 28...Jared 33

Total INT's.....Teddy 22 Jared 14

Avg. Completion %%% Teddy 64% Jared 59%

Total yards Teddy 6150 Jared 4893

Avg. Yards per attempt Teddy 7.2 Jared 7.2 (IMO a key stat)

Won/Loss records Teddy 22-11 Jared 11-11

Avg. Yards game Teddy 205 Jared 222....or something along those lines....

Hmmmm.....yep, That's Dan Marino compared to Johnny Football right there....

Two similar players.....similar stats....decent.....Jared does seem to throw more effectively deeper....but I put the yardage on the new-ness of McVay's offensive scheme....Lets check the numbers AFTER a season of adjustment by the defenses....

20 years old....25 years old...they're all in the pros....this isn't 26 and under tackle football.

Lol ya let’s compare their 2 years totals when Teddy was a starter for 28 games and Goff for 22 games.

Also let’s ignore Goff came into the worst possible qb situation as a rookie. Worst offense in recent memory in the nfl and the coaching staff was terrible.

But of course then that would go against your narrative and the point you’re trying to make.

The more legit comparison would be to compare their second season as pro’s since Goff actually had compentent coaching and a functioning offense around him. Guess what? Goff will put up good numbers again next year. Why? Bc he’s a good qb and plays in a good system for his skills. He’s far from average. He’s a young QB with the traits/skills to be elite if he keeps progressing as he did this last season from year 1 to year 2.

hmmmm.....

Now, I haven't looked up this question....but I'm curious....when Keenum was operating the "worst offense in recent memory", was it still the worst? Or, was it the worst when someone else took over? What came first, chicken or egg?
Was Minnesota an offensive juggarnaut? I remember reading their o-line was terrible while Sam was back there. I saw them operate last year against us. Nothing special. The circumstances for both players seems identical in many respects.

28 games to 22.....I'm sure you can extrapolate the numbers....and YPA are identical....

I didn't come in here to make a point....someone commented on Teddy in NY......How could they be a winning team? I thought/think Teddy could make them competitive. When I compared Teddy to OUR QB, now I got a narrative...I have an agenda.....I even threw OUT the QBR....a stat that is designed to show how a QB's play effects WINS, and yet....despite proving that many of their stats are similar, my original premise, you continue to claim they AREN'T comparable players......OK You don't see the similarity....I do....

What I like about your claim is....it's firm....it states what you believe....and it can be proven true or false with time.

I will say good players can become great....but that rarely happens....what usually happens is, great players show greatness early in their careers.....and maintain it consistently through the years...

And.....you can have a good year..and revert back to your average self.....sorta like that game vs Atl....the last game of the season....
