Yeah I don't think people understand that McVay is the one who drives those moves. So if this is happening it is McVay.

McVay was almost begging Snead to pick Puka in the 5th round and not try to wait until a later pick to select him. McVay and Snead both agreed to draft Puka but Snead makes the GM moves and that moment showed it.

That would be incredibly ironic if Stafford got traded to the Vikings for Darnald etc. Darnald came out of the same draft class as Goff and stafford would be playing in the NFCN.

It's too much for my brain. It'll never happen.

Even if we entertain this idea as being more than some rumor fueled by an internet rando, has anyone thought at all where JJ McCarthy fits into this? He was the first round pick of the Vikings and would probably be starting had he not got hurt in the preseason.
He will sit behind Stafford, then take over.

Darnold was 2018 and Goff was drafted in 2016. Your boy Carson Wentz was drafted right after Goff. But anyway, it's not happening.

Actually, I think you have him confused with the Marines - they are the crayon eaters. Even skimmers aren't that low. Here's a handy guide for future reference:

True or not, this and the Kupp trade talks would give the average fan, the feeling of the front office doesn't see a run this year, and a rebuild.
Tomorrow’s game will tell a lot of the future of both teams.

Do you predict The Rams to win ? Jared Goff sure looked after the first quarter. The Vikings defense looked pretty good.

It’ll be interesting, but my prediction is The Rams at some point might be out of the Playoffs. The Hags games this season are going to be HUGE to have a chance at all.

If The Rams lose though tomorrow, does it really matter ?
What we(I) know is that The Rams are already the 3rd Youngest team in the NFL.You get rid of both those players & they already will be the Youngest.

In a way it is almost a rebuild,or just development of DEPTH!!!This Rams team & coaching staff are pretty good(excellent). Just some tough luck IMO & 2025 is going to be SPECIAL!!!

Wentz did get a snap last week I think Mahomes is in trouble.

(I needed to add an additional bad take to compliment my last lol.)

It could be, but McVay doesn't trade or make moves unless it's useful to the team. Sending Stafford elsewhere does nothing but close our window to win unless he has a plan to bring Mahomes here.
The entire current Rams organization is built around McVay. He strategizes with Les. Les then finds the solutions closest to what his coach desires because he knows the league GMs, and values of players and picks in team building, and the draft. They make a very strong team. But if push comes to shove the organization is still aligned around McVay. Every player they cut bait on it is because the Coach says it's time. Not because Les says it. That is not his role and it's an important distinction.

Les runs the drafts and rightly so. But McVay drives what they are after. Just like Fisher did before him. And when McVay gets a bit nuts with shit I am sure Les reigns him in or tries to. Les is a talented GM overall. But McVay is a Hall of Fame coach. Perspective is something fans lose quite often on this I think.

Re: Stafford I agree and have said as much myself. But what the Rams are doing is projecting their window and asking themselves what it looks like a year from now, two years from now, etc. If the strength of the overall roster requires a LT, for example, as well as a pass game stud to replace Kupp, that means they need two big time first round pieces that are probably needed as early in the draft as possible. Which means just for the LT alone they may need to move up, which itself means they might need to give up additional picks including futures. From there what does Stafford look like when the roster arrives.

Now if they believe in Jackson at LT things are more manageable. Then all they need is the offensive weapon. But I don't think they trust Jackson. I certainly don't, not after he just got suspended for the first two fucking games and piled on our woes right out the gate. We can see the wear and tear on Stafford from that Detroit game as the season has unfolded. If they do, however, then they can easily find a weapon and maybe even a QB2 type to stick behind him who might develop into a game manager type starter.

So I don't want to trade Stafford or Kupp for the record. But I'm not the dude looking at wins/losses from a window perspective over the next, oh I don't know, let's say 4 years. If McVay is willing to finish this rebuild and ride that window, then maybe he's thinking "ok Les it's time to rip the bandaid off." It seems radical but then again McVay is bold as hell. This is the guy who moved Goff a year after paying him. He is completely ruthless and that ruthlessness is one of his strengths. Hope this all blows over and is just media nonsense but I've learned not to underestimate McVay & Snead. They're on a different level.

I remember reading the same before we traded Jones for scraps. Two firsts for two older offensive players with huge contracts would be a steal.
Are we going for a 1 win season if both get traded?

I had a hard time believing the Rams would trade away the only chance at making a second half run at the playoffs. The Kupp rumors are obviously true. But at this point Stafford is far more valuable to the team than Kupp. I still hope they hold onto Kupp. If he can stay healthy the rest of the way its their best chance at getting back in the race. Although staying healthy and getting back in the race are both big "Ifs" at this point.
