Even though I fought till I'm blue in the face with stupid @Merlin about JJ McCarthy IDK or think he's a McVay type of QB tbh. System wise I could see it, but McVay as far as I can tell from interviews I've heard doesn't care one bit for rookie QB's and having to cull them.

Although I'm a McCarthy fan for the setup in Minnesota I'm not sure that'll be a possibility down here.
Minnesota will trade McCarthy to the Chargers after Harbaugh trades Herbert to the Rams

The NFL is cyclical, and you have teams like the 69ers now struggling. Depending on the quarterback we pick and the draft picks we make, we could easily win another Super Bowl within those five years. That's my prediction.
Most of the male relatives on my Dad's side didn't live past 65 years old. I'm 60 now, so I may never see the Rams be good again if they trade Staff and Kupp.

If McVay wants Darnold how funny will it be to read this place after the trade. Everyone here will claim to be smarter.

Yeah, I get that perspective. But you never know when it comes to the NFL. Who had the Chiefs as a potential three-peat contender in 2014?

Beat the Lions in the NFCCG on the way
It would certainly lead to a shit ton of drama in the week leading up to that playoff game. But I'm gonna be pissed if we move him of course. I'd rather take a shot on another QB and stick him behind Stafford.

I would not entertain trading Stafford. QB purgatory means bad Sundays no matter how well we draft or how many great rookies we have.

It entirely depends on the quarterback we get. Stafford isn't going to be himself forever, and I trust this regime with the quarterback. They've earned the benefit of the doubt on that.
