Yes excellent postCouldn't have said it better.
Yeah that’s what this site is all about.lol so much goff hate in here. i hope any year the rams are no longer sb contenders, goff is out there winning one. mostly just to spike so many haters here
Way I see it this is the problem with the Goff backers. Everything was always someone else's fault. McVay was at fault, bad calls and scheme. The OL was at fault. The receivers were at fault. But not Jared oh no, poor Jared getting screwed over by everyone else.
You won't find a single person here acting that way about Stafford.
And strangely enough it was exactly the same effect with Bradford, there was a group all over his nuts who worshipped the guy and could never see that he was a shitty QB. A QB who lacked the balls and competitive fire to play at a high level in the NFL. So I think it has a lot to do with buy-in and the fact that both were #1 overall picks taken by us. IMO that drives the fanaticism and absolute blindness to shortcomings.
He lost Woods. Woods is a fantastic route runner. So he has Jefferson and Beckham trying to be Woods when neither fully knows the position in this offense nor runs routes as reliably. And the reason he has been sacked more than Goff is because Stafford holds the damn ball too long trying to make a big play.
There are a few times that he should have just thrown it away and we can kick the FG instead.
Yeah that has hurt but I still feel Stafford is trying to be Superman too often and his kryptonite is trying to make big plays when it isn't thereHe lost Woods. Woods is a fantastic route runner. I think he’s needs to adjust to the idea that he cannot rely on Woods replacements all of the time.Yeah that has hurt but I still feel Stafford is trying to be Superman too often and his kryptonite is trying to make big plays when it isn't there
Would we have won those games Stafford lost if we still had Goff? I doubt we beat the Cardinals, 49ers and Packers. The defense was pretty bad those games. Maybe the Titans. But would we have lost any games that Stafford won if we still had Goff. Probably.
My guess is we'd be a playoff team but maybe not a division winner with Goff. We'd be similar to last year where maybe we win a playoff game. But I doubt our odds to win it all would be as good with Goff. Stafford and all his warts are still our best chance to win a championship. All we can do is hope he limits the mistakes and the overall team plays well enough to win. Because when he's not making mistakes he can be really good.
Besides losing Gurley, which was huge, Rams also lost center Sullivan and started Blythe, who was a freakin turnstyleThere is no correct answer to this question. There are just too many variables to consider when comparing the two QB's. Everyone wants to focus on stats, well look at Goff's first two years under McVay... they are quite impressive. And then the Rams lost Gurley and EVERYTHING changed. And the Rams 3rd WR became Josh Reynolds instead of Sammy Watkins or Brandin Cooks. And Kupp got hurt during the latter half of Goff's last 2 seasons. And Blythe did get abused by some of the better D-tackles in the league (Jets, Miami, etc), whereas Stafford has a much better line this year. I will agree that Goff does not appear to read defenses as well as Stafford, but Stafford is willing to get killed, ala Kurt Warner, to get the pass off. Hopefully he can stay healthy. But there is no way to compare the two QB's with all of the injuries, trades, drafts, etc. Teams are very much different year to year. I mean it's fun to discuss, but some of you are taking this personally. I liked Goff, a lot. I like Stafford... a lot. That is all.
Was referring to GoffHe didn't do that against the Vikings.
He's had a very good year this year but I want to see more
Need to let that sink in.Yeah that has hurt but I still feel Stafford is trying to be Superman too often and his kryptonite is trying to make big plays when it isn't there
Oh I agree -sometimes when I look at those passes again, I do not see a viable outletNeed to let that sink in.
I think McVay’s play calling along with Stafford, is calling for Superman throws…no dinks.
Cannot put a value on the loss of Woods to this offense…Woods has been a huge piece since 2017, over both QB tenures.I think he’s needs to adjust to the idea that he cannot rely on Woods replacements all of the time.
