This interview was a bit different for Les. He actually got into the draft pick approach with regard to comp picks a bit. Seemed almost like he was waiting for a question to discuss that. Great dude but boy does he have some tells lol I guarantee he's not much of a poker player.
Some stats he made it a point to mention wrt Rams' picks "since 2017"...
- 8th most draft picks overall.
- 32nd in day one picks (Round 1).
- 3rd in day two picks (Round 2 & 3).
- 6th in day three picks.
- 6th in receiving comp formula picks and he expects after this year's picks come out they will move up to around 2nd/3rd or so.
Yet he struggled to remember Raymond Calais name; and did not even try to mention by name the four DL from their Practice Squad. Some stats he made it a point to mention were Rams' picks "since 2017"...

True. Though if I felt inclined to criticize him those things wouldn't make the top 5. For myself recall takes a back seat to roster building.Yet he struggled to remember Raymond Calais name; and did not even try to mention by name the four DL from their Practice Squad.
The Rams only have about 50 players currently under contract. I would expect the Organization’s senior Front Office man to not just rattle off the names Calais, Copeland, Banks, Hoecht and Williams, but be able to talk about what the Team thinks about each player’s strengths and potential.True. It also just goes to how unimpressive I thought Snead was in this press conference. He just rambled
Like his Goff comments after the Season?Snead is a master at not showing any tells and distracting other from his actual plan.
He also mentioned their strategy to turn "late first round picks" into known commodities. It's a fascinating thing that they're doing. It's a rather unique sustained approach. Other teams do this but not year to year. Can they keep succeeding in this?
No idea but it's gonna be fun to root for another winning team and find out if we have enough to win it all.

Its a creative and revolutionary approach tbh. And it works as long as we keep getting 3rd round comp picks back for losing free agents. We have to hit on those mid and late round picks which we have. With all the 1st round busts year after year I think its a cool strategy.
Interesting also how he talked about certain QBs having specific skill sets, and how you would like to build a team around them. Like having a big strong QB like McNair, you might be inclined to want a bigger WR on the outside to go up and get a ball. Wonder if that was another tell that Stafford wants a bigger WR on the outside and we might make a play for one.
