Should we go after Ramsey?

If the Rams package a deal sending Peters and a draft pick (3rd sounds reasonable) for Ramsey, the release of Peters salary should give them enough room to fit Ramsey under this years salary cap. I believe Peters counts $9m against the cap this year. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

It's a no brainier from a talent perspective - Peters and our first is also likely to be more than any other team would offer, us were in the NFC.

Only issue I see is chemistry in the secondary, which can be just as important as individual talent. Plus not sure how Talib would take it as he and Peters are probably close.

Having said that, I'd trade Peters and our first for him without hesitation.

Fuck yes. Go get him. Talib and Peters likely walk this off-season. Give Ramsey the money that Peters would have gotten. Ramsey is a much better player and half the headache. The guy is arguably the best CB in the NFL when he's locked in mentally. And he can play anywhere on the field. I'm talking boundary, field, slot, or even safety. He's a fucking eraser.
I see no future here for Peters with the Rams. Proven poor fit IMO.

Ramsey play him @ any secondary post. I was of the opinion that Ramsey would be an all world deep safety when he was in Tallahassee. Rams would be foolish to not consider him. Talib would be good partner for Ramsey the rest of the season. Talib was much like a young Ramsey.

I would include Marcus Peters in the trade to resolve that future issue & the fact that our first round selection will be like a high second rounder. A 2020 starting secondary with Weddle/ JJ III/ Rapp/ NRC/ Long/ Hill & Ramsey would be a good one.

I don't see any way you could have Peters and Ramsey on the same team. So it would have to be a trade for Peters plus a 2nd rounder at least. I don't see the Rams chancing such as a disruption in the middle of this season.

I agree with all the talent comments. But man... he is a ticking time bomb. You think a guy like him will buy into our culture? Sure hope y'all are right.

I don't think he is a ticking time bomb. He wants to get paid. So did Aaron Donald. He has a little diva in him, but that's true of most elite CBs. I think he'd fit well in here. We have the right culture and coaches who interact well with big personalities.

I’m in. Back up the Brinks.....

Let’s New England this shit.

I agree in the Peters scenario, he is a much better player. We, except on th OL, are fairly dialed in. I have faith in our coach to coach, D Long Jr. up, so we’d be set in our secondary for years. Anyone, noticing how Rapp is showing all over the field?

Fuck that, keep who we got or even sign one of them a few more years and draft a CB high to replace the one that left. Need to start bringing in some top tier talent with the 1st and 2nd round picks that are cheap.

Peters, Bortles and a 5th. They need a QB and bortles knows their system.

I had to hit the laugh reaction given the irony of your proposal. Not that I disagree with it, but that would be hilarious if Jacksonville wanted us to trade Bortles back to them.

Our First is like a second rounder and everyone including the jags know that.

Jags want more than a first if you read the reports.

Even if they agreed to Peters, which is far fetched, we would probably need to give up two 1st's (which are like two 2nd's) and then some more picks.

Then there is the cap question.

Far fetched idea.

They need a reciever too and no not Reynolds but Peters and ramsey are a good swap scheme fit wise. We know Ramsey is better but if your giving up peters let's say mike Thomas and a 3rd. We can still keep our first and second but if they insisted on our second I'd do that as well. Thing is that even though a swap of Ramsey and peters is relatively close in value I just don't think jags take a chance without locking peters up. Would be horrible to give away Ramsey and then peters walks from them. That's probably one of the main reasons I don't think it would get done.

No way bro that's severely undervaluing peters.

I think Marcus was young and saw a lot of success quickly while still having some maturation left to do. I think he "grew up" a lot over the course of last season and I expect him to have a great season. I am not sure if the Rams will re-sign him but I hope they can work something out. I don't see any way the Rams coaches could consider trading him towards Ramsey unless Peters was unhappy and wanted out.
