How many teams are in the league? 22 is pretty beep but possible, there were 7 QB's taken by then in my league but we play 2 QB's

12 teams. My second pick is at #22 overall.

You're in a 2 qb league. You got me excited there for a second.

Ah well, can't risk my first pick on an injury risk.

For a receiver that is the business side of thirty this is going to happen. Keep him on the couch until he is 100%

Semantics. Is a muscle strain a setback? Could a setback be a muscle strain? Isn't day to day or "kinda day to day" the same as, "we'll see how he responds to treatment"? We've seen enough guys day to day who missed the upcoming week's game. And we've seen enough guys day to day who play. Sensationalizing can be over reacting to a minor injury. It's a muscle strain, not an ACL or high ankle sprain. Hopefully he plays Sunday. If not, hopefully he plays the following week. If he misses 2 weeks, sensationalizing will go out the window.

Cooper Kupp was all set to play in the opener this time last week. Now he’s not. Not only that but he is spending part of next week in Minnesota to see a specialist. There is absolutely nothing sensationalist about the word setback here. I understand why McVay doesn’t wanna use it but that’s 100% what it is.

Ughhh...

I'm not arguing about the definition of muscle strain vs. setback.

I'm noticing a trend (albeit small) of Jourdan tweeting quotes that aren't really said from coach. Which IMO are sensationalized b/c it feeds into the negative vibe w/ the team.

Fuck.

Pretty clear now that McVay was minimalizing the injury, and Jourdan rightfully called him on it.

If Kupp has to see a specialist, that isn't "just a little muscle strain" like McVay said, with a "no big deal" tone in his voice.

But the Rams typically do this under McVay-- they tend to downplay injuries so as to keep opponents guessing. Not easy for the fans, but understandable that they want to limit injury info to make it harder for opponents to game plan.

Crap! Get well soon Coop

Meh.
This has been handled no differently than any other coach.
None of them want to show their cards.

I think we are at the point where we just cannot rely on 1 entity. Its bad enough our offense was lacking last season and I hope it isnt as bad this season. 3 n outs get old after awhile when your unable to get points on the board. Hopefully with Kupp and Nacua we can become more efficient. I would like variation of ball distribution just not Kupp Kupp Kupp every dag on play…

I don't know what it is about that 30 year threshold. Something about that age a guy is more susceptible to injuries. I'm getting a feeling Kupp will no longer be able to play a full 17 game season anymore. All we can do is hope he can play when they need him the most. If there is a bright side it will force Stafford to take off the blinders for Kupp and start looking at everyone.

Guys… we still don’t know his status. Seeing a specialist doesn’t sound good, but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll miss time.

“Setback” is just a word. I’m more interested in words like “doubtful,” “questionable,” “probable,” and “starting.”

Interesting turn of events.

Not so long ago we had a QB on a rookie contract and 3 top flight recievers for him to choose from (Kupp, Woods and Cooks).

Now we have a highly paid QB with one top flight receiver to throw to. Both of whom are up there in years and injured for +- half of last year.

I can almost hear the ice cracking.

What we do know is that age plays a factor in all of our lives. There becomes a time when you are just not able to do the things you used to be able to do. Kupp is at that point plain and simple. We will need newbies who can fill his cleats much sooner than later, and hopefully we learn from this because we burned him out too darn fast and relied solely on him too much to be the foundation of our offense. This can be a big deal if you don’t prepare for this type of scenario of not having Kupp a 100% of the games.

Welp, Tutu is gonna get his chance...again. He'd better take advantage.

This is a big game for Van. He must be the vet presence and leader out there for the wideouts so the team needs him to not fade into the background or disappear with some injury. He will need to produce so can he handle that. I can't wait to see what happens there.

Also talk about a trial by fire for Nacua. Pretty big game and situation to get his first start in Kupp's place. I assume that's how they'll handle it. But maybe it'll be Tutu who steps up.

Why is that strange? You think McVay is going to tell the truth 100% of the time up there?

This idea that he was being honest about Kupp’s injury and Jourdan was fishing for headlines is one of the most insane things I’ve ever read on this board.

Coop was gonna play next week. Now he’s not. That’s a setback. Calling it anything else is sticking your head in the sand fandom.

Ah, whatever!!! We're gonna run the ball down Seattle's throats anyway!!! Isn't that the right plan of attack? When you're playing a team with a great offense, you try to shorten the game. Well most Ram fans believe our defense is going to make everybody look like a great offense. So.......

I don’t think 30 is such a threshold for a player like Kupp, who has never been a speedster.

I’m going to just wait and see.
