Had to find the full quote from Martz when the Rams hired Sean McVay.

“What is he (McVay), a couple of months older than Jared (Goff)? They hired a buddy for Jared,” Martz said in a new book published recently. “The NFL has nothing to do with being the friend or the buddy of the quarterback. You’ve got to coach them and work them hard with respect. But buddy? And this guy is a quarterback expert? An offensive expert? Wait a minute while I puke.”

Haha coach “Mcyay”.

Good one skip.

The boy wonder is a genius play designer and skip can’t handle it.

Trust me, I live here in Dallas area and all cowboys fans just like Skip have a deep seated jealousy of the Rams. It goes back to the 2018 playoff loss to us where they all thought they were going to win.
Cowpie fans are still bitter about that thumping we gave them.

Love it.

And that right there is a perfect illustration of why Martz never became an NFL head coach again despite having a winning record and a Super Bowl appearance with the Rams. So many other coaches who have a winning record and a Super Bowl appearance with one team get a chance with another - Reid, Fisher, Vermeil, etc. - but Martz never even got a sniff of an NFL head coaching job again.

He had a great, innovative offensive mind, but a terrible, self-destructive ego. And in the end, that baggage outweighed his talent.

It was so anticlimatic the way Collinsworth and Michaels called the end of the game. It was so sad. It was like analyzing a golf putt and what happened. Screw that man. They should be ashamed. We should have at a minimum have heard "And the Rams have just won the Super Bowl" when the ball hit the ground.

You’re spot on. That play was called as if it were some random, almost meaningless 4th down stop in the 2nd quarter, nothing more.

It was a completely anticlimactic and disappointing call for a Super Bowl clinching play.

That's what I was talking about in the Collinsworth can fuck off thread. Those two idiots were totally thinking tie game and into overtime and tbh pulling for Cincy in their comments. Their calls at the end were fucking terrible as a result too.

Do you think they'd sound like that if Cincy hit a TD to end the game on that drive and win the Super Bowl? Hell no. They'd be whooping it up with excitement and Chris would be hurrying down to the field to blow Burrow.

What pisses me off about that call is my spanish feed was off in the timing, so I had to go back to those dipshits because I wanted to hear the crowd. And far as I'm concerned that final call should end any future of Collingsworth in the booth for big games like that. The guy is a shitty analyst.

I think this will be Al Michael’s last Super Bowl. Notice he wasn’t part of any of the pregame show it’s like they just wheeled him in to his seat once the game was about to start. As great as his career has been, it’s time for him to retire. I’m sure it was in the plan that at the end of the game Collinsworth would stand down so Al Michaels could give a call for the ages like he’s done so many times in the past but he just doesn’t have anything left. It’s been fun but it‘s time to move on.

Very likely since this was the last year NBC had it, Fox takes over next year.

Exactly. They were both biased toward Cincy. And you know Michaels would have gone apeshit if Cincy and Joe Bro won it all.

But they didn’t. We did, and that’s all that matters.

Mike Lombardi is another arrogant piece-of-shit ... just an opinion.

Said McVay 'couldn't' be a good hire because no 30-year old was capable of being a good NFL head coach.

Announced that Goff was a 'bust' after his rookie season. When Rich Eisen asked 'you could tell after 7 games', the dick-wad responded "I could tell after 7 passes'. Goff proceeded to win 24-of-31 starts over the next two seasons, with 60 TDs against 19 interceptions.

Fat-bastard's book was titled: Gridiron Genius: A Master Class in Winning Championships and Building Dynasties in the NFL.

Yeah, Mike Lombardi's a fucking Gridiron Genius.

What's funny about Lombardi is that he was correct about the Rams' culture being shit. But then when McVay was hired he went on about how he's not a leader and not the guy who will install culture. He even acted like Wade retiring would be some huge milestone McVay might not overcome.

And I have news for Lombardi... It starts with the owner. Culture is huge, yes. But if you don't have a guy at the top with money and some brains you have no chance to sustain shit.

Mike Lombardi and Jason LaClownfora are two of the worst football media heads I've ever heard speak. I watched them in the past wondering if the networks could really be that desperate. It didn't seem possible.
