I feel sorry for the kid. Man, he must have seriously messed up the interview process on top of the trouble his old man could cause if he doesn’t play.

Still, the Browns taking Gabriel over him was insane! It’s a bad situation for Gabriel and him :)

.

Man he must have been a real dick in the interviews and he declined top 30 interviews making him undraftable for some teams.

I don't really feel like Sanders is getting his comeuppance or he wronged anybody to be put in this situation but at the end of the day I think he just overplayed his hand.

Not rooting for or against him but it's going to be a long road ahead if he doesn't like the taste of humble pie.

Wondering who's decision it was to retire Shaduer's and Hunter's jerseys after the end of the season?

Wondering why Shaduer has rooms in the house with word "Lendary" in many places along with a Dollar sign "squared" art work?

Wondering why the NY Giants, who supposedly liked Shaduer much in the early stages of the draft process, after a meeting with him ended up drafting Jaxson Dart?

Could anyone see Sanders on the Rams in McVay’s “We not Me” culture”?
I think that Sanders may be one of the most blaring examples of a poor fit. And as a QB, it s even more important.

I'm wondering if his slide can be explained as easily as that. He is better than many already picked.

Sanders is the kid who played little league baseball who was coached by his dad. He played short stop & pitched. His dad coached him at every age. Even started a travel team when he got older and he kissed his ass all along the way and treated him like he was a star. Then when it was time to play HS baseball, the HS coach played the other kids who didn't act like they were the greatest thing since sliced bread, while the Sanders kid rarely played.

Daddy then bitched and moaned at every game as he couldn't believe his kid wasn't playing. He was stunned at the situation his son was in. How can he not be the teams star player? Eventually the kid quit.

I have seen this up close with a couple of kids when my son played HS baseball. Dad treated their kid like he was so much better than everyone else at every level, without realizing there were much better kids who kept working and improving while playing on the same teams his kid was playing on.

I blame the dad...he created the situation.

If coach thinks he can handle the player and make him into something I'm all for drafting him at this point. If we don't draft him I won't lose any sleep either. But if he can make him into something then we have 2 1st round picks next year to make the team better.

I think the whole problem is he goes against the entire "we not me" mantra. It's ashame because McVay is one of the few coaches who can probably break the hold his dad has on the situation and teach the kid to sit back, learn, work hard and be quiet.

I don't think he fits the culture of what the Rams want. Particularly at the QB position.

And apparently, he isn't even coachable, which is a big issue considering his game has flaws in it that need working on. In pre-draft interviews, when shown tape of mistakes he made and being asked what he would do differently, rumour has it he replied along the lines of, "if you don't like my tape then maybe I am not the QB for you". How would want that in their QB? And then you get his father bringing a media circus to town, crying every time his son is on the bench, crying if he takes issue with your gameplan for his son or how you utilize him.... creating a QB controversy if the starter in front of Shedeur ever has a bad game...

It is hard pass from me if we are spending any pick of value on him. I can see why teams are passing on him in rounds 1, 2, 3...

However, he does still have some real talent at the most important position in the game. And the Rams are one of the few NFL teams I think have a strong enough culture, head coach, and ownership to manage the media circus / Primetime issues / humble the kid a bit, with a clear superstar at QB such that there would never be QB controversy. We have 4 picks in the 6th round. I'd like to take a flier on him there if he is still available - if it isn't working out we can just cut him and not worry about having wasted a pick. Maybe it pays off and allows us to use our two 1st rounders next year on a non-QB position, because right now, the vibe I get is that those two 1sts rounders in 2026 will be used for Stafford's successor, be it via the draft or trade.

But I suspect Sanders gets drafted before the 6th round. You never know though. Nobody thought he'd fall this far. Some are saying he may go undrafted!

As you quoted "If coach thinks he can make something of him" that includes getting him to buy into the team because if he doesn't then he's nothing.

It's an interesting situation. McVay is obviously a very confident guy, confident in his abilities to handle situations. However, at the same time, he wants to be focused on his team so does he want to deal with the potential distractions Sanders could bring?

I think he will finally be taken before the Rams pick again, but if not it might be tempting for him.

I wonder if teams may have reached out to the Sanders camp last night to discuss any ground rules were they to draft him? Like telling Deion to stay away and let his kid be coached. Get an understanding of boundaries in place. Not that it will work.

As entitled and bratty as Shedeur is, Shilo is by far the worse person.

Shedeur might be drafted late. I’d be shocked if Shilo was drafted at all, and I don’t want him as an UDFA, even if you paid me.

Did you watch the NFLN after the end of round 3? That's basically what Daniel Jeramiah said but he said Shadeur and his agent need to reach out to teams they've met with and assure them there will be no distractions and he'll come in and work. Sound advice IMO and I wonder if he's humble enough to do it. The kid is a decent QB so him not being drafted is 100% on the circus he's shown to be and his daddy.

My son’s little league coach was that guy. Everyone joked behind his back that he thinks he’s going to be on the Yankees. But the kid was terrible and he refused to accept any coaching. I offered to teach him to hit and his Dad wouldn’t let me. He was convinced that he was the best coach in the league. My kid worked for everything he got. Fast forward to high school, and Linc is batting cleanup and Jack quit the team because he had no position and sat on the bench.

I'm hoping UDFA. Bring that little arrogant delusional coddled bitch crashing down to earth.

What a legendary fall.
