Here's the last minute buzz I'm hearing: Jake Long-STL, Reggie Bush-DET, Chase Daniel-KC or NYJ, Goldson-TB, Cassell-MIN or TB,

Awesome if this is true! If, this is true I hope they got him at a somewhat reasonable price.

Not sure how I would feel about this. I absolutely love the commitment to the line, but adding another injury prone player at such a high pay worries me.

Didn't Jake just get a clean bill of health from his doctor not too many weeks ago?

Free agent LT Jake Long received a clean bill of health from Dr. James Andrews this week.
"I just saw him and he looked great," said Andrews. "I'm not worried about him at all." Long has dealt with various injuries over the past few seasons, most recently a torn triceps in Week 13. But Andrews says if the season were to start tomorrow, Long would be cleared to play. "If you think Long is healthy, you better think long and hard about him," said one NFL source. "He wasn't very good last year, but he was hurt. If he's healthy again, he takes care of a lot of problems."

I would expect the Rams to get their own medical crew involved. We can't very well have Sam the Ram getting beaten up anymore than necessary. With SJ possibly leaving, Sam officially becomes the bell cow of this offense, although that term isn't usually applied to QB's.

would laugh at miami fans so hard if we signed him..

first we got fisher...then long..lol..

If he's healthy, Long is a huge upgrade on the O-Line.

Then we need to draft Kyle Long, just fucking because.

I would totally be on board with Long, hopefully he had a spat of bad luck with the injuries. He never really had injury problems until the last two season. If we sign him we'd have the first and second overall picks of the 2008 draft.

If he's healthy he's a top 5 LT IMO. Only concern I have is he probably takes all the remaining FA money we have.
I believe it was about $14M to start. Hayes got 3 years $10.5M and from what I've read about $6M of that goes to signing our draft class. I think I read Levitre got $8M per. Is that right? Seems crazy for an OG. If that's the case what is Long going to want? I'm hoping it's more incentive based on games played, etc.

If Saffold does move to RT sure would seem like we're building a very solid line.

If all the FA money is gone though, we would have to have a very solid draft. Or maybe more cuts are still coming?

Rapaport also said "Don't be surprised to see each player leave with a deal in place" - he was referencing Jake Long to us, Bush to Det, Goldson to Bucs

Lessee what the Smith "brothers" can do when facing Jake and the Rok.

I wonder how much money it would take for him to sign.

Good question.

I guess we'll know soon enough, Rams or otherwise.
