This one scares me a little. I'd hate to over pay for him. That would probably mean SJ is definitely gone for cap space and I think it's imperative a safety is also signed in FA. But, if healthy, it might be what the doctor ordered!!!

I wonder how much money it would take for him to sign.

Good question.

I guess we'll know soon enough, Rams or otherwise.

Was wondering the same thing. Hayes, Cook, Long. I thought we only had about $8M to use (the rest goes to draft picks?) Did we have $13M for just FA?

Man I'm confused.

I've got to believe, and I'm only speculating, the Rams converted JL's roster bonus to signing bonus.

I'm a little leary of this possible signing only because of what we saw with Scott Wells.
Talented, vet OLinemen get released to FA for a reason...many times its simply a $$ issue, but Long hasn't been durable the last two seasons. I'd hate to overpay for a guy who's best years could be behind him.

They must have, the past few years they've worked some cap magic that's for sure. I'm positive they've done some more without letting people know. Helps keep other teams on their heels when suddenly you have more money than they thought.

Yeah, but he's 27.

It's hard to believe his best days are behind him.

Now... after seeing Orlando Pace fall apart early (suddenly in his very early 30's); I understand some reservation.

But again, Jake is 27.

I'd like to know exactly what an NFL free agency physical visit entails. Just how comprehensive are they? Does it depend on your med team? Are there rules about how much you can research and test?

"Hi Mr Long...please step on this scale and cough"..."Thanks you can go."

or

"We're going to need access to your medical files...and bend over,we need blood work."

8-)

Always wondered about that.

LOL

I don't want to answer like I know for sure...

But in this case; if he missed time for pectoral injury - they will likely check that.

Same with key joints like knees, shoulders, hips, and elbows.

It's been a LONG LONG time....

Well KD is a magician when it comes to the cap so he must be doing something good. If we get Long and Delmas these guys are beyond good.
