Wow a 3rd for one of the few best centers in the league. Would have been nice to do that trade. They go from one of the worst to one of the best centers in the game.

I'd of happily handed over one of our 3rd round picks for Hudson. Zero percent chance we get a better Center for this season with our 3rd. I understand there are cap ramifications, but DAMMIT..... NFC west O Lines are all improving but ours (... and the hags but fuck them).
Rams third round picks are comp picks. That puts them about 20 spots lower ... and less attractive ... than the Cardinals third round pick.

So the Rams would have needed to give up more.

Or not taken a 7th back, like the cards did.

Based on the old value chart Arizonas 3rd is worth 195 points, Rams first comp pick in 3rd is worth 96 points, and any 7th round pick is worth 1 point. So yeah don't think that'd cut it. We would have had to add our 4th rounder at least and that still doesn't equal out.

Looks more and more like the Rams plan to go with Blythe or in house at C. Coupled with the loss of Malcolm Brown, who was way better than Akers or Henderson at recognizing and picking up blitz', Stafford is going to have little or no time with hands in his face or be on roller skates. Good luck having time for those much anticipated deep passes. Every team on Rams schedule will see film of Blythe getting mauled and Akers or Henderson confused as a blind lesbian in a fish market.

If we go with Blythe, I’m gonna break the windows in my room with my screaming.

There are at least three rookies I would prefer over Blythe.

There are five: Creed Humphrey (Oklahoma), Josh Myers (Ohio State), Landon Dickerson (Alabama), Quinn Meinerz (Wisconsin-Whitewater), and Drake Jackson (Kentucky).

I’d even prefer Corbett starting at center over Blythe. Point is this: if we go into this season with Blythe as the starting center with Stafford, we deserve to hand a top fifteen pick to the Lions.

I'm not that big on Jackson, but I agree with you on Corbett as well.

Jackson is legit. Is Meinerz better? Of course, but Jackson is a guy who stonewalled almost everyone the SEC threw at him. I think the only guy who got the better of him was Quinnen Williams. He’s not going to wow you with athleticism, but he’s extremely cerebral and stout at the point of attack.

I'm adding Trey Hill from Georgia to my list.

IMO the Cards will stay the Cards.
Giving up a third when he was about to be released because he was unhappy about his contract.
Will Hudson make Murray a pocket passer?
Will Hudson allow him to see over the oline?

I'm glad that the Rams are not giving up important draft capital so that they can pay heavily into the C position.

If we’re running a power system, sure, but I’m very concerned about his overall athleticism; he simply can’t move to the second level. He’d make an excellent guard for a power scheme, though.
