flexability, Mac! Talk to McSnead for us, will you?I want Hudson, too, but they have a plan and I don’t think they’re gonna change it because Hudson shook loose... unfortunately...
"John Gruden" * drops mic. They have the cap space now to sign pretty much whoever they want.
On paper Hudson sounds great.
I know the Raiders are idiots and all, but something seems off that they would take such a major cap hit to be rid of this guy

He is allegedly a huge Walt Whitman fan after all.....Well, we talk sometimes, ya know, but he’s clammed up lately.
There’s a hint of a really exciting plan, but he’s good at keeping secrets...
meanwhile, he goes on and on about catching up on Breaking Bad... I don’t wanna ruin it for him so I just nod...
You need to morph from Mr Rogers to Mr Robinson and open a can of whoop ass....Well, we talk sometimes, ya know, but he’s clammed up lately.

I keep seeing this sentiment. Then I think to myself that if anything adding Stafford increases the likelihood of a first year center.Nah, they won't match a first year Center with Stafford.

Not saying it's ideal or anything mind you. But we have way more room for inexperience at the pivot with a QB who has that positional mastery.
I think your question comes down to Edwards and how well they think he can play RT. IMO Evans at RT will require some up and down time. Boom will get worked at RT you gotta be physical strong side.Putting a rookie center who's a physical specimen makes sense. But with all the Meinerz talk and him skyrocketing up boards, there's a very good chance he's gone at 57. So is there another guy we take there that's worthy? Do we really want to start a 3rd or 4th round rookie over Blythe? Or should we just nut up and sign Hudson?
What if we need to cut/trade Hav in order to sign Hudson? Hudson + Evans/Edwards/Boom at RT.. or Blythe + Havenstein ? I'd still lean towards Hudson honestly if we could pull it off.

But maybe they're thinking of drafting their LT of the future and starting him at RT next year. If they go that route then maybe it's viable to move the money going to Hav over to Center in form of Hudson.
Re: Hudson he's a guy I've never been too high on but I don't think I've watched enough of his games tbh. Might be like Stafford where my opinion of him is outdated. But if the Rams like him and want to move the salary from RT to C then it should be doable. It does seem like there's a lot of teams that need center too btw so if you think you can find a starting RT easier that helps that equation too.
You think he's that good? I honestly need to watch some of his games so not being facetious here.A center of Hudson’s caliber would instantly upgrade both guards spots.
