It looks like Robinson was an upgrade to Woods, 10 mil more cap available and a 6th round next year.

No reason to stop trusting McSnead at this point. It ain't over yet.

We all really liked Woods but will soon be forgotten I believe.

But then again, I still miss John Hadl and Harold Jackson.
And Lawrence McCutcheon and Jim Bertelsen.

The Robinson signing in FA and dumping Woods to the Titans is triggering my PTSD with painful flashbacks of the Rams bringing in Drew Bennet and dumping Isaac Bruce....

Unlike the 2006 Rams, this FO has my trust and has earned my faith....

.... but I don't want anymore flashbacks from the Linehan/Spags Shitshow Spectacular

Depends what they do with the cap savings and it shows they don't want to get into a position down the road where they have to dump a bunch of big contracts.

So they are being disciplined and yet spreading their resources throughout the roster efficiently.

If they now use his cap room on a quality veteran CB, then it makes a ton of sense.
Seeing is believing.

Do you have any idea what their cap situation is right now?
I know that with signing bonuses and contract manipulationss, it’s all a magic show. If they want to make a move, they could do it.

Atwell gets bagged on but the guy is unproven. Got inured too early for me to see what he can do.

Next year will be interesting for our WR corp for sure.

So, It Basically sounds like a Woods for Robinson & a 6th Round Draft Pick?! Still don’t like it but if the Rams use whatever cap space they gained by this trade for a quality FA or Veteran (Trade) it MIGHT soften the Blow/Disappointment!!!
There's still the minor question of an edge rusher to replace Von. Imo Woods' money will in any event go to someone new on the defensive side.

That's the real trade here.

5. The offseason isn't done yet.

Totally spot on.

Some may disagree but I believe this is part of a bigger picture that started when Von left. They had to pivot. My heart is broken but I understand it and we need to remind ourselves we cheer for the make on the front of the jersey more than the back of the jersey. Let's see how this plan unfolds is best I can muster rt now.

Depending on what they do, that could help ease the blow, but we definitely could have gotten the Titans to give us a better pick. Guess that bonus expedited the move. Makes me wonder if Donald about to break the shit outta the bank or if we made this trade earlier if we could have kept Von and gone after Robinson anyways.
Not just you but I'm reading this a lot. He'll be 30 in a month coming off an acl injury with a roster bonus due and a contract that escalates in a couple of years. If not for the injury and the contract we absolutely could have gotten more for Woods. But those two factors are huge and drive the compensation way down. If we traded him after paying the roster bonus we get a better pick.

Last year I and others were beat to hell for questioning McSnead, and were throughout the season, now a lot of the same people are questioning McSnead for 1 trading Woods and 2 for not getting what they feel we should have.

I love Robert Woods and will always appreciate what he did for the Rams. But this deal makes sense unfortunately.

All speculation.. but the roster they ended last season with was a hell of a roster.. so, I'm not going to stress too much or second-guess them that they could've gotten more.
If they took less to send him to a team where he fit and had a chance to be in the playoff picture, I'm fine with that too.
Well everything we guess is speculation for sure lol....I guess that doing right thing doesn't necessarily mean much to me as we traded poor Brockers to the Lions and he meant a lot to us and was beloved by Aaron Donald. However with that said, still strongly believe we could have done right by him and gotten a much better pick.

Lotta emotions on this trade. I get it. I was totally there last year when they traded away Goff. Thankfully, it worked out even to the really high standards some set for judging the trade (Super Bowl or bust).

But yeah, I totally get the emotional reactions to this trade, even if it makes sense from a football standpoint. Losing good guys hurts.
I was also upset when they traded Goff, and even more so at the multiple posters who kicked him on the way out the door. But I'm over it. Football's a business to which we happen to attach our emotions.

Does this mean that OBJ is in the future Rams plans? I would think so.
I could see the thoughts looking at the schedule is to win the division, which may not be as big of a challenge this year, then get OBJ back and blow up the playoffs.

Rams are all business, period. Fans are emotional. Robinson just goes to show that they'll never stop looking to improve. At this point, I'm not so sure that OBJ is a possibility, and wouldnt be surprised that they pick up another WR.

But that's the perfect example, right?
A'Shawn Robinson was a BEAST in the playoffs. It's been years since Brock had that kind of impact, imo.

1.. A 6th in 2023 equals 7th in 2022. We gave Woods away.
2. We spent about a third on Boom and Allen, compared to what Big Whit would have cost.
3. We spent significantly less in gtd money for Robinson, vs getting Miller back.
4. We saved a ton on a new deal with Stafford.
The Rams did not NEED to dump Woods like this. No wee get to depend on Jefferson to not suck when it counts.
I'm guessing the WR class in this draft factors in (minorly) to the trade value too. Lot of teams are going to keep getting better at wideout and it's not gonna stop with seemingly every class being good.

But Woods value is what allowed the Rams to move him vice cutting him here.
