Rams Defense need to hit the Saints WRs and RBs hard and make feel the pain. Don’t let the Saints a track meet. Apply pressure and pain to the Saints and let them think twice about the Rams being a finesse team. The Rams DL need to be the punisher in this game.

Wade should consider playing Shields and Johnson III at safety with Talib pressing Thomas. Joyner has been a huge liability in the passing game. Although Shields would be a liabilty in the running game but I fear Thomas will go off again more than I fear their running game. Shields provides the speed and instincts needed to be a good ball hawk. Another wrinkle that the Saints may not be ready for.

I think the issue is that Shields is on a snap count.

I don't see any way we beat the saints unless we Man up and distrupt their WR's at the LOS.

I think Wade needs to completely redo our secondary scheme for this game.

I would try a 2-3 man rush with 2 LBers and 6-7 DB's. Donald gets their faster than anyone else anyways so let him force the rush and double triple everyone.

Oh boy...we gotta do this until game time Sunday. I get all the analysis and breakdown stuff about how to beat a team...but this is what it really is:

HAVE MORE POINTS THAN THEY DO WHEN TIME IS UP!!! :ROFLMAO:
Yeah seriously. I just want to Rip Van Winkle this week away. At least we finally have the first time slot. Plus it won't be any of that 10 a.m. body clock stuff.

Pressure up the middle . Last time Brees picked them apart from the pocket . Get him moving and he's not the same guy . Please try to limit Thomas

They seemed to be able to neutralize AD in the first game. I think the one key to the Saints O is Brees gets the ball out so quickly before a D can react.

My personal thoughts are:
1. Suh, Brockers, and Donald need to have another strong game plugging the run. The Saints kill you with balance, like we do. Hold their running game in check.

2. Take Kamara and Michael Thomas out of the game. If Wade thinks Talib can handle Thomas by himself in shadow coverage, do it. If he can't, double him. Do the same with Kamara. If we have a safety or DB who can match up, put him on Kamara. If not, double him. I'll take my chances with Ginn, Smith, NO's TEs, and Kirkwood.

3. Offensively, we need to dominate the LOS like we did against Dallas. Run it down their throats. Don't abandon the run. Control the clock.

4. Attack P.J. Williams. He's the weak link. Try to get Woods or Cooks matched up on him. Force the refs to flag him. He's a shitty CB who gets extremely grabby when he's attacked.

5. No stupid mistakes. Offensively, no bad fumbles or picks. Defensively, no blown coverages (looking at you, Peters).

Good thoughts... would just add we need to get pressure on Brees as well and now, with Rankins out, I would run CJ especially and TGIII at his spot as much as possible. See if his sub can stop us.

Get a time machine, go back to the Viking game. Grab Goff and bring him back to the present. Do this and I guarentee we win.

I think Wade needs to completely redo our secondary scheme for this game.

I would try a . . . 3 man rush

Right now, today, this is where I'm at. Rush 3, drop 8, consider dropping AD/Suh (alternate them) and sending an edge rusher.

I mean, look, I like AD a lot, but in the Rams' losses the other team has made him virtually invisible. People can talk about applying pressure, but yeah, it's not happening. Dallas was bottom 10 in sacks allowed, right? How much pressure did the Rams get? -- 1 sack on a OL huggy.

Yeah, yeah, dropping our best pass rusher is madness, blah, blah, blah. It's the ZB concept of getting the guys that the offense commits to stopping the rusher (AD) out of position to stop another rusher. Maybe I've been watching too many of Spags' old vids, but I just don't see a pass rush magically coming out of thin air with our current group.

If we only rush 3 we could drop our entire secondary roster into coverage and Brees would still pick us apart. We gotta get him on his @$$ and keep him there.

We also need a plan for the crowd noise, like calling two plays so Goff just has to issue a "kill" call to audible into the second play. That said, protection could be problematic so the OL is going to have to be able to communicate...

And speaking of communication; our secondary must talk to each other pre snap so we dont get into a situation where Peter's is pointing fingers again.

The Saints are beatable and at this point in the season, with our boys firing on all cylinders, it wouldn't even be a game if they didn't have home field.

Exactly right. Communication will be crucial in this one. We need to be prepared for crowd noise and not waste timeouts. If we communicate and limit turnovers, we have a great chance to win.
