Yes, it's actually saturated fat that is evil. Some is necessary, but a huge Ruth's Chris steak smothered with butter is unhealthy. Don't get me wrong - when my wife was sick with cancer and had trouble eating, I fed her a bunch of steak smothered in butter - the calories were important, and she could actually eat up a small steak. But long term health is not helped by a 16 ounce steak smothered in butter, at least not on a regular basis.

Its seriously January carnivore diet appreciation month. Supposedly, the healthiest thing we can do is eat a diet of strictly meat (including liver and bone marrow). From what I understand it's actually easier for the human body to digest meat rather than greens because of how or digestive track works. And the diet as been shown to reverse a lot of diseases (most of which are caused by carbs). Anyway, God bless your wife and go Rams!

The recipe is our defense is going to have to play at a level they haven't done all year.

I remember them dropping us 35-7 before i had finished 1 beer.

We don't have the same explosive passing game right now....

That being said - the Saints have not looked as explosive themselves down the stretch.

Wild game has almost no cholesterol and very little saturated fats with lots of the good fats (comparatively, wild game is typically very lean).

Absolutely. I'm far from a vegetarian. I eat beef - just the saturated fat needs to be limited. I also cook with butter, etc. Just moderation, which Ruth's Chris is not known for. The New Orleans location is also known for under the table political deals, but that is another issue.

Well, the human digestive track (and teeth) are clearly compromises between meat and plant matter. We need both, and evolved to eat both. Including needing some carbs - though modern civilization has made it too easy to overdo both carbs and meat.

Thanks for the support for my wife. The cancer was too aggressive - she died last year.

Check you 'ShawnBaker1967' for the carnivore info. He did an epic podcast with Joe Rogan as well. I'm not fully on it myself.

I'm sure she's in a good place my man!

Go Rams!

I honestly think that we're going to run this two-headed monster into the ground.

If we can be efficient running the ball, I can easily see us going for 40 minutes TOS.

I think we can beat them if we man up and press. Brees will have to be hyper accurate on those short and intermediate routes and his long distance accuracy has waned. He's not going to throw it 60 yards...which is why Brandin Cooks is a Ram. He was outrunning Brees. NE shipped him out because they don't pay anyone top dollar.

Part of how you get the pass rush home on Brees is force him to not just drop back, plant and throw. He's got to take that second to get through his reads.

Also, Peat really struggled with Fletcher Cox and it sure doesn't seem like he would have an easier time against AD.

I really think we can do it. That said, we are going to have to play mistake free football, execute and play with at least as much intensity as we did against Dallas.

I have to agree, Mack. Brees had a TD to Ginn (I believe) that was picked because he underthrew it. He had another TD to Hill knocked away because he underthrew it. I think this is the right game to stick to the WRs and force Brees to burn us over the top. He can do it, but if our guys can not get burnt in an embarrassing fashion, I think they can make it hard on Brees. He's still highly accurate, but he has lost a lot of arm strength.

However, saturated fat is nowhere near as bad for us as sugar.

The Neanderthals were on top of all of this. They would have made good linebackers too. Easier and better pay than hunting wooly mammoths.

Moderation is key. We evolved to crave sugar as a way to get calories while getting vital nutrients from fruit. But it's too easy to get sugar now, just as it's too easy to get saturated fat, which we also need, in small quantities.

We've always craved sweet because it goes directly to the glycogen stores in the liver and it's WAAAY more efficient than converting complex carbs or worse, fat or protein to glycogen.

Also, fat doesn't make us fat, as you prolly know.

Excess carbs make us fat as insulin and glucagon are paired hormones...insulin regulates the amount of sugar in the blood and stores the excess as fat which during periods of severe caloric deficit is converted back to glycogen. Glucagon is the hormone that converts glycogen to glucose for metabolizing by the brain.

Too much sugar and the pairing of insulin and glucagon become imbalanced which leads to all sorts of bad things.

Agreed. Early on today I thought Philly was going to do that, but their secondary finally caught up to them.

And tbh aside from all the schematic type stuff the reason I wanted this matchup was because it should remove the pressure from the Rams. Nobody expects them to win this game. But they're going to be in it to the end this time around, and we get to see how our young QB handles himself. I'm really excited for that, regardless of how it ends. IMO we have nothing to lose, go shock everyone and as McVay says write their own story.

Agreed. It feels like this team is finding a second wind. NO still seems a bit sluggish. Of course, they have a massive advantage being at home. It'll be an interesting game. Wade will need to call one of the best games of his career. And for the love of God, Wade, don't leave Joyner alone in M2M coverage on Michael Thomas.

A few thoughts:

1 Saints pass defense is #29 in the NFL. You thought we had holes in our pass defense? Shoot Eli Apple, PJ and Lattimore have been terribly inconsistent this year. Their safetys, same story. Without Rankins their pass rush is mainly edge rushers Davenport and Jordan. Don't be surprised if we throw the ball a lot in this game. They can be abused in the pass game.

2. The Saints are #2 in run defense. With Rankins out this squad is not as good. Keeping Brees off the field and avoiding turnovers are some good reasons to RUN IT DOWN THEIR THROAT. But, be prepared for Mcvay to exploit what works and that may be a pass heavy approach.

3. Wade needs to think outside the box in this game. If we let Peters and Joyner do more of the same in this game that we saw vs a much lesser QB in Dak then we have already lost the ballgame. I like our chances to slow Brees with Talib this time around but Brees needs to be stopped. Last time he did the quick throws. I am jamming the WR's at the line and giving Donald time to get to Brees, that is in my book the way to win this game.

Thomas destroyed peters last time , hopefully Talib can help this time around .

Offense needs to stay attacking, cant take the foot off the pedal and let this crowd take over the game.
Peters was nicked up earlier on. He's been much better recently.

Pound the ball with CJ and Todd, mix in some Goff play action. MAINTAIN gap integrity as in the Dallas game, and tell Talib, "Michael Thomas is your meat."

Rams gut stomp the Aints!

In my opinion we HAVE TO blitz often against the Saints. Send at least 5 guys a lot of times.
I know many of you are gonna say "Breeze is a pro he'll burn us if we blitz."
But I'm telling you he will burn us easier if we rush 4 and get no pressure. At LEAST with some blitzes there's some kind of chance of a tipped ball, or fumble, or sack.

We simply CANNOT rush 4 and expect to stop their offense.
It didn't work for philly.
