Yeah man. It's far too late to have guys on snap counts or list players as questionable or doubtful. If you can put pads on get your ass out there and lay it all on the line. Win and get 2 weeks off with a chance for a title. Lose and go home with 6 months off.

Play the 46 defense. Let the Saints dink and dunk. Rush the QB hard. It worked well against the Rams. If we slow them down then we can out score them.

We've always craved sweet because it goes directly to the glycogen stores in the liver and it's WAAAY more efficient than converting complex carbs or worse, fat or protein to glycogen.

Also, fat doesn't make us fat, as you prolly know.

Excess carbs make us fat as insulin and glucagon are paired hormones...insulin regulates the amount of sugar in the blood and stores the excess as fat which during periods of severe caloric deficit is converted back to glycogen. Glucagon is the hormone that converts glycogen to glucose for metabolizing by the brain.

Too much sugar and the pairing of insulin and glucagon become imbalanced which leads to all sorts of bad things.

I'm the total opposite, Sweet I can live without, but if I don't get red meat, that's when I start fading!

Peters was nicked up earlier on. He's been much better recently.

He's not the total liability he was, but he is still doing stupid shit that hurts the team. I can only hope he wants revenge badly enough against NO that he plays disciplined and gives great effort.

The one guy I am not letting beat me is Michael Thomas. Double if you have to. I go into that game taking him away and taking my chances with everyone else.

He scares me. He does dumb things. He doesn't like to tackle. He has not been what they thought he was. The Saints will go after him because they can burn him or cause him to make a dumb penalty. Talib needs to stay in his ear and keep him focused.

I mentioned this on Football's Future but:

Two things that need to happen for us to win this game:

1. O-Line must bring their A game. When Goff has time, McVay can call our WRs open every time.
2. Secondary must bring their B game at the very worst.

I think Goff has his way with that defense. The key is balance. Keep them guessing the first and second downs (play action, end around, plays out of the gun, simple runs ect). If it comes to third downs, hopefully we are at least in a third and 5 at the maximum.

Look, you will not be able to run it down this teams throat. Its unrealistic, especially with the way we manhandled Dallas. We aren't the one dimensional Seahawks. That's why we beat the Cowboys, because we mix it up. That being said, I do expect us to pass it at least 30 attempts.

You don't play the Saints and not test their secondary. Its fools gold to become one dimensional this time of year. You dance with the date you brought. We brought Goff, Gurley, and CJ Anderson. So all three will need to play a role if we want to win.

The one weakness we have on offense is huge defensive tackles manhandling Sullivan and Blythe in the pass game.

That's why we had such a terrible time with the Bears (Hicks - plus the cold) and Eagles (Cox) in our two late season losses where our offense didn't play well. They kept getting a good rush up the middle in those two games. Once Cox went out in the Eagles game, that's when our offense started playing better. Cox comes in late in the game and Goff gets sacked.

Without Rankins, I do not see NO doing the same thing like they did in the first meeting even though Goff did play extremely well in the second half of that game. I think we have an even better opportunity to pass in this game than the first game. Both Whitworth and Havenstein are playing extremely well and should be able to hold their own for most of the game against NO ends. Sure they might get a couple pressures and maybe a sack or two, but for the most part, I see Goff having a lot of time in the pocket. And Goff is deadly when he has time. Plus with both Gurley and CJ, NO has a lot to figure out. This should be a good game even if our defense plays poorly.

I feel oddly calm about this game, I guess I just trust McVay and what this team has going right now. I may be let down but it really does feel like our year. Regardless getting that playoff win was huge and I'm really proud of this team. I think this is a team that will make the playoffs for several years to come now, so if not this year soon. No matter what happens I will wear my gear with pride. GO RAMS!

A few thoughts:
2. The Saints are #2 in run defense. With Rankins out this squad is not as good. Keeping Brees off the field and avoiding turnovers are some good reasons to RUN IT DOWN THEIR THROAT. But, be prepared for Mcvay to exploit what works and that may be a pass heavy approach.

Were the Saints good in run defense or were they up 38-7 on teams so they abandoned the run?

I believe the recipe to win is:

1. No turnovers for us.

2. Defense or special teams force a turnover.

3. Run the ball effectively

4. Force 4-5 punts

5. No Vinovich on the field.

6. Refs actually call holding when AD is held.

You know as well as I know that the Refs are only allowed to call one holding penalty a game on someone holding Donald

Try to avoid instances of Joyner being on Thomas.
hopefully Talib can help this time around
with Talib pressing Thomas.
I fear Thomas will go off again more than I fear their running game.
it's simple cover Thomas
Cover Thomas
Please try to limit Thomas
hey gotta have an answer for Michael Thomas.
The one guy I am not letting beat me is Michael Thomas.
See a trend? :ROFLMAO:
Quite a few teams kept him under wraps this year after he went off on the Rams:
MINN - 6 targets/5 receptions/81 yards
BALT - 9 targets/7 receptions/69 yards
WASH - 5 targets/4 receptions/74 yards
NYG - 4 targets/4 receptions/47 yards
Decent sample size to draw from and devise a plan for him. Of course, personnel is key too.
But his last three games?
10/10/129
13/12/89
17/16/180
So, Phillips had better figure out what the effective teams did and how to apply that the Rams secondary. If not, and Thomas goes off like the last three games, Rams are very likely to lose.

I don't see any way we beat the saints unless we Man up and distrupt their WR's at the LOS.
I am jamming the WR's at the line
I agree... no 15 yards cushions. It doesn't help them anyway (they get twisted and turned the wrong way for long gainers).

Maybe Peter's can back up his comments about Payton after the last meeting.
He's not the total liability he was, but he is still doing stupid crap that hurts the team. I can only hope he wants revenge badly enough against NO that he plays disciplined and gives great effort.
I see him as being a big liability. He has no self-control. I fear he'll see this as his chance to "show everyone". Well, you know what happens to players who don't play within themselves? They get beat... badly. Frankly, I wouldn't be upset one bit if they sat him.

Im scared shitless of the saints
Yeah, this one has me very concerned.
Their WR corps is as good as ours
Their RBs are not as good... but it's very close
Their defense is better than ours
And... they're in that dome.

I agree with the aggressive suggestions. If I'm going down,it's swinging, baby.

* Lots of blitzes
* Jam those WRs on the line and hold them as steathlike as possible
* Throw in a few trick plays you haven't run all year
* try to make the run game work... if you can limit TOP for their offense, that's great

Right now? I'm not feelin' it... maybe it'll come to me later in the week. But NO is a very talented team that can hurt you many ways, very quickly.

Yes, that sounds like the Rams... guess I wouldn't want to play them either

I am sure I'm not the only one that finally saw flashes from Suh against the Cowboys? He has been avg at best all year playing next to AD but he was smashing the Cowboys C and was manhandling the middle of the Cowboys O line. If Suh and AD come fired up and playing at a high level the Rams D will be a totally different beast compared to the first game and will help the back end a ton! I have a great feeling about this game! More excited than worried! Not downplaying the Saints, no one gets to the Championship game by accident, but with how the Rams are playing and the injuries in the Bayou maybe its fate!

I think Wade needs to completely redo our secondary scheme for this game.

I would try a 2-3 man rush with 2 LBers and 6-7 DB's. Donald gets their faster than anyone else anyways so let him force the rush and double triple everyone.
Nah. Remember last game there was no Talib. That was huge for the Saints.

Picking up Anderson gives the Rams a two headed monster in the backfield just like they have.

The real question mark is how Phillips game plans for them. I think the key is keeping your DLine fresh.. so use your subs a lot. The Rams can get pressure with 4 most of the time. They don't have to hit Brees...just hurry him!

I think the secondary will hold their own as long as Peter's doesn't gamble or overthink things.
