There's a lot of teams with CAP and picks that haven't done crap so that is no guarantee we'll be better off.Not as valuable as those picks and the $33M of cleared cap space for 23' & 24' that they can get by trading him.

So what's your plan?
I hear ya and I know I've been beating the drum the hardest on keeping Ramsey, but whatever happens happens cuz I'm definitely not deciding lol, but I'll still support our Rams regardless even if I don't think it's the right move. If they do trade him because he's being an ass, absurd, or cuz the Rams simply choose to, I hope we get a high ass 1st or even multiple 1st rounders so we can trade back for even more picks. Either way, sucks that we are in this situation but it is what it is.1) Restructure Kupp
2) Trade Floyd, Higbee & Van Jefferson for 3 additional draft picks and big CAP savings.
3) Let Shelton go as a free agent or cut Brian Allen, ... one or the other, the CAP savings is similar.
4) Cut Jordan Fuller and save $2.7 Mil off the CAP, then re-sign him for 1 year at $1Mil.
5a) At this point I could go either way on Ramsey, although should we get a mid-1'st round draft pick out of the deal, then I select our top new Edge rusher in the upcoming draft.
5b) Should Ramsey remain with us, I use our 2024/2025 1'st round draft picks to trade for an elite young Edge rusher.
By the way, I'd just like to step back and say I do enjoy the convo we are having even if we don't agree but we obviously both just want the Rams to do good. Regardless of what we are saying, we'll see what they decide to do. Definitely a different off-season than years past. I won't say I love you man like Otto cuz I haven't had enough to drink yet, but I have mad respect for you giving your take.Draft one? They need all the picks they can get to find OL, S, CBs, an edge, and DL.
Maybe they can find an expensive vet to trade that gets you multiple picks and fixes their cap issues?
Yeah, but Goff wasn’t the same type of leader that Jalen is IMO. Sean McVay was the leader of the offense.
You’re not going to find another Jalen Ramsey. Do we basically go from having Donald, Wagner, Ramsey…to Donald.
How many times has Ramsey delivered a big hit that pumped up the defense? Or fired up his team on the sidelines. Or shut down a receiver completely. Yes, he didn’t perform as well last year, but as many have stated, he’s not being used as a shut down corner. Having a corner as PFFs top run defender is proof of that. Losing Jalen is going to hurt more than people think. Draft time makes people crazy.
You nailed 100% on the head @PhillyRam and obviously our FO thinks the same way. Many here don't get the argument. This is not about how good Ramsey is. He is obviously a great player. It's about how much better his $33M of 23' & 24' cap room can be utilized.
No one argued that the Chuefs were better off losing Tyreke Hill, a guy who essentially won them a SB a few yrs ago. However they saw it was more important to spend money to keep Mahomes upright and not kill their cap for a non QB position, while also getting back draft picks.
And guess what? They were right.
Same issue here with Ramsey.
Can't say the FO thinks the same yet when nothing has happened. If it happens that way, then yeah he'll be right. At this point, we are all going back and forth on what if scenarios. Going to be interesting either way though. I'll add that it is a definitely a view point that is extremely realistic whether myself or others like it or not.You nailed 100% on the head @PhillyRam and obviously our FO thinks the same way.
So we have a thread about loading up on offense and how that may be the Rams goal this off season but you're going to trade away or cut our starting TE our #3 WR and one of the two guys capable of starting at center both of which have injury problems.1) Restructure Kupp

We know what Jalen Ramsey thinks. He is trying to be a good boy & not force a trade in public. Can't say the FO thinks the same yet when nothing has happened. BTW, it's beimg reported here in Philly that Darious Slay is on the block because he has a $25M cap number. Can't say the FO thinks the same yet when nothing has happened. If it happens that way, then yeah he'll be right. At this point, we are all going back and forth on what if scenarios. Going to be interesting either way though. Yeah you are correct there sir. No one wants to show there hand which is why we are all left to speculate. We know what Jalen Ramsey thinks. He is trying to be a good boy & not force a trade in public.
Kevin Demoff left the door open.’ We haven’t heard from Sean Mcvay either.
There going to be a lot of Chit that happen.
I'll be honest, have no idea about that one, but I'd imagine they'd want to keep one of their DBs if true. Are u thinking he could be a target if Ramsey is indeed traded? I'd think he'd go to the highest bidder but at this rate my guess is as good as any hahahaBTW, it's beimg reported here in Philly that Darious Slay is on the block because he has a $25M cap number.
They to believe a CB is not worth that type of cap number when your team is cap strapped.
Except the Chiefs also picked up Ju Ju to replace Hill. It's not like they just left the spot empty for a nobody to take over. Also, their offense is stacked. Our D has some stars, but not so much on the back end and how versatile Ramsey is in Morris's system, it leaves a bigger gap in talent with Ramsey gone than it was for Hill to be replaced with Ju Ju.

I will agree with one thing you said...you are no cap guru.Who says it has to be structured the way you are suggesting? Unless you are the Rams cap guy, which none of us are, you can't just present one way for them to get around the cap. The Rams have done it before and they can figure out a way to do it again. Organizations that want to keep a player always can find a way to do so. Lastly, don't get so stuck on me wanting to simply keep Ramsey at whatever cost, remember I said if his demands aren't absurd for an extension then we got to go the trade route.
And preseason is everything...In all fairness, no one really thought that the two WR additions would pan out. Most chatter had the trade as a bust for the Chiefs.
After they win it all, it looks very different, but preseason last year? Chiefs weren’t looking as good on offense

Got it an almost full on rebuild for a playoff caliber team. That's correct. This would give us 13 draft picks, 14 minimum if Ramsey is also dealt.
Getting rid of exceptionally high CAP charges & acquiring a new class of talented young players is a goal. The Rams aren't going to the Super Bowl in 2023 anyway imo.
By the way, I'll also be drafting an IOL and TE pretty early in our draft. Considering our already strong depth at WR, I suspect a later round receiver should be more than adequate. I'd even make another attempt at OBj if he came cheap enough ...
jmo.
The comparison is the team choosing to spend those cap dollars elsewhere. Not their contract status for switching teams.Totally different scenario, Hill was entering the last year of his deal and was going to be signed to an extension which the Chiefs felt they couldnt afford.
That's not the case at all with Ramsey. They signed him to a deal, he's honoring his end, and now due to accounting, they possibly want to ship him out? Not the Tyreek sitch at all, not even close
Thought they were going to trade back last yr and they didn't have a trade partner. Takes two to tango and I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket. You telling me Snead isn't trading back to pick up more picks? Jefferson is a number #3 at best. You telling me we can't draft one or even sign a cheap ass one in FA. It's very doable.
Yeah I get that part but draft picks take time to develop is the issue. If we had a younger version of AD Kupp, and or Stafford, it's easier to say do it.Thought they were going to trade back last yr and they didn't have a trade partner. Takes two to tango and I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket.
And using your certainty on a trade down, think of the draft capital they would acquire by dealing down with two picks from a Ramsey trade. Trading back from a 1st rounder alone could get you an additional 3 or late 2.
