I am talking about play on the field. Just think how bad our secondary would be without Ramsey...

In terms of drama, which is what I think you are referring to, he has been a model citizen while on the Rams.

And yes, he has a LOT of trade value (estimated 1st + 4th, from what I understand). And yes, he would be in contention for HOF consideration, especially now that he has a ring.

The problem is that we will not be in contention to win the NFC West without a healthy JR + AD. By trading away either you are essentially entering a rebuild - aka a bad product on the field - aka a fucking clown show for years to come.

Today, we are still in "the window" to be in contention (barring injury and assuming a re-built OL, which is in the realm of possibility).

Where do our viewpoints differ?
Agree. Our DBs are BAD without him. In a passing league, we'll get eaten up. And considering he's the only physical guy we have, we're going to get even further smashed by SF and other physical teams. I hate every ounce of this idea of trading Ramsey.

This defense is immensely worse without him.

If he wants a new deal, give it to him. He can rotate to Safety in a year or so and finish it out there. But getting rid of him sets our defense back so much.

We'll go from a sketchy pass rush because Raheem plays our DBs 27 yards back every play, to sketchy pass rush because our DBs are burnt toast, and I mean pitch black burnt.

Gurley was always the Alpha on the offensive side of the ball (by a country mile).
Not arguing that, as I did argue with many here at the time Goff wasn’t a strong leader, but he was one of them by default if nothing else.

[QUOTE="El Chapo Jr, post: 1690294, Most of us are arguing that if we truly are going all in, why get rid of a stud corner instead of extending him?
Agree. This is the Rams dilemma now. They are being pushed into a new path forward— what could be called a rebuild— by circumstances, one decision at a time.

Rams built a Super Bowl champion by having a small core of great, experienced players, with the rest of the roster backfilled with lower round picks and opportunistic signings. The model worked in 2021 but fell apart last year. They lost not only Whit but Miller from that team. Now they have lost Wagner and may be “losing” Ramsey.

So the old model may be kaput, because the circumstances now may be that they are better off filling other holes in the roster rather than keeping a star (pun intended) cb who was crucial to a championship.

These may well be the right decisions but they are unlikely to result in Rams contending for the Super Bowl this year. Of course, neither might any other path forward right now.
[/QUOTE]

What about Woods,OBJ,& or Corbett another key to the O”Line. Then Williams cover CB,
Never addressing the TE(Blanton).
Then you have failure in T.Lewis &(Hollins), & C. Garrett as DE/OLB. Eric Weedle did make a difference as well. Let’s be Great Today!!

Yeah, the Rams drafting and personell decisions the last 2-3 years are very lackluster. Been a lot of misses.

I think finding an edge Pass Rush would be huge.I think even without Jalen Ramsey The Rams could be alright.
Jalen Ramsey on the field can be a distraction. He has grown up on & off the field.I wouldn’t disagree with what a STUD he is.
His contract will be the issue & how he(agent) handles it.
I will wait to see how things play out.I don’t know?

CALL IT A CLOWN SHOW!! Like I say,I drink the KOOL-AIDE.
In Rams I Trust!! RAMsey will called RAIDER-sey!

I'd like to add just remember, the media swore, after McVay even admitted, that we were looking to trade Cam Akers. Just cuz we are hearing about it doesn't necessarily mean it'll happen. Just wanted to remind folks lol

Problem was that nobody wanted Akers but just about every team in the league would love to have Ramsey

Yeah but we didn't get offered what we wanted and declined. Only saying it's still possible nothing comes of all of this talk. Not putting any description like very likely or unlikely.

I dont think anyone offered anything for Akers, they would have traded him for a ham sandwich if it was offered.
Seems like the Rams overpay when they trade for, and then get little back when they trade out.
Alas, I dont want anything to do with a Ramsey trade, so I just cant see the Rams getting anything near value for him. I mean he's not coming off his best season so they surely wouldnt be selling him when his value is highest.

BTW, I actually hate the idea of trading Ramsey. Was hoping he could eventually transition to a bigtime playmaking safety.

However, what I am arguing is just the unfortunate facts and why it makes a ton of sense to to move him.

Had Donald retired, we may not be having this conversation, but his new deal really crippled the cap in 23' & 24' with $60M of cap dollars devoted to him over the next 2 yrs.

It’s weird this is so public. The idea the rams are shipping him and likely to be traded soon. I feel like most Ram trades come out of nowhere.

The rumors you hear about for the rams seem to be ones that never happen - because they don’t get anything or what they want. DJackson, Akers for example. I wonder (worry) this is the rams tossing it out there trying to build a market that isn’t happening.

Yeah at this point, I'm just like whatever happens will happen when it does and I'm also at the stage of I'll believe it when I see it hahaha

Yeah, the reality is… the Donald and Kupp extensions are very likely the reason we are having this conversation.

Yeah, the Donald one was really stings.

Seems like the Rams take care of there own player and then a year or two down the line get burned by it.

THIS JUST IN:

It’s March 2 and Jalen Ramsey is still a Ram.

(And Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.)

One of them is going to be me! Lol

I’m on one right now thinking we get #7 and #70 from the Raiders for Ramsey :drum:

Don’t know if that’s comedy time or realistic? Lol
I honestly have no idea what his value is because teams are gonna scout his film. I would take that deal in a heartbeat though.

If it means adding a stud G and Center, I don't think Stafford will complain too much.
I get that logic but we only save a little this season. I think I was stating it more from our defense pov it will not be as remotely as good without Ramsey. Maybe we could lose Wagner and survive but not Ramsey imo. Just not fair to AD who was contemplating retiring I sincerely doubt before he made his decision the braintrust came to him and said you know we may need to lose some key guys.
