Yep and I think so... especially since they can use the saved starter money elsewhere. I think they can replace Jones role last year either with a late draft pick, current project on the roster or free agentAnd didn’t Jones sort of move to 2nd fiddle? Maybe the Rams want more of Jones in the lead LB role.
Yeah. As soon as Stafford is gone, I expect the Rams to take as many cap hits as possible at once to reset. Probably a good year to draft a QB as well.Rebuild coming
Likely a way to improve the pass D since both were on the field together a little too much last yr.Re: his replacement Jones stays on the field and the other spot is an early down rotation with safeties coming in more often than not the rest of the downs.
Floyd would not surprise me yeah. I'll give the guy that he plays through injuries but this is a production business and he hasn't lived up to his contract.Floyd has to be next. Can designate him as a post June 1st cut and save $15M. Allen could follow.
Higbee could be a trade asset also. Noteboom, coming off an Achilles, probably not.
Maybe you still keep a vet leader like Ramsey on D, surround him with youth. That may mean you move Donald even if it's just for multiple #2 picks.
Yeah that's what it looks like to me. That and general (cap) efficiency. They drafted Jones for the one role that stays on the field. Wags isn't good enough to put him on the bench so the vet moves on.Likely a way to improve the pass D since both were on the field together a little too much last yr.
I'd move him for the 17 overall this year. Because if the conversation happens it's because AD wants it and he's a possibility of punching out. Rams have zero power in that equation unfortunately.I'd consider it if we received Pittsburgh's overall #17 & #32 in this years draft.
