Mmmmk. Never know what's going to happen with this team. Only saves us like $4 million immediately I think but more in 24 which might be the reason why. Unfortunate though.

I'm sorry but I just don't see the upside in this move. It only saves up 5 million in cap space and eats 7 million in dead money.
It might save more (around $8M), if he’s designated as a post-June 1 release. I suspect we’ll get more details soon.

Appreciate what Wags did for us last year. Sucked that the team was shit but he did his job pretty damn well so best of luck to him and family.

This will be Jones' time. Hope he's ready because we need this defense to make a lot of strides.

Think this clears $5 million in cap space. He had $1 million a year signing bonus and $3.5 of his base this year was guaranteed had a cap hit of $12.5 total

Seems likely it will be declared as a post June CAP Cut which will make it an $8.M CAP savings with $4.5M in dead money.

Guess I need to start scouting mid-round ILB prospects!

Never should have signed him to more than a one year guarantee deal last year. Hated the contract last year - and this is why. I figured he would last only one year. Although, to my surprise, he played better than I expected. Unfortunately the Rams sucked due to all the injuries.

He wasn't going to sign to only a one year deal last year that we could have afforded.

I liked Bobby Wagner and he did well for us, but did he win games for us? The Rams D needs to reach the QB within two seconds. We need someone to complement AD. Also, it doesn't seem that we value ILB's that much, which surprised me when we signed Wagner

Which is a big reason why I was against the signing. One year fine - beyond that we’d likely have pain. That’s today with the additional dead cap hit.

Hate this move at first brush, but reading the tweet makes it seem like he wanted out. And if that's the case, it's a lot easier to take.
