It might save more (around $8M), if he’s designated as a post-June 1 release. I suspect we’ll get more details soon.I'm sorry but I just don't see the upside in this move. It only saves up 5 million in cap space and eats 7 million in dead money.

He wasn't going to sign to only a one year deal last year that we could have afforded.Never should have signed him to more than a one year guarantee deal last year. Hated the contract last year - and this is why. I figured he would last only one year. Although, to my surprise, he played better than I expected. Unfortunately the Rams sucked due to all the injuries.
Which is a big reason why I was against the signing. One year fine - beyond that we’d likely have pain. That’s today with the additional dead cap hit.He wasn't going to sign to only a one year deal last year that we could have afforded.
That makes much more sense. Thank you.Seems likely it will be declared as a post June CAP Cut which will make it an $8.M CAP savings with $4.5M in dead money.
Iowa HOMER!Na. Hummel ain't it. Draft Jack Campbell out of Iowa.
8.5 is much more salvageableIt might save more (around $8M), if he’s designated as a post-June 1 release. I suspect we’ll get more details soon.
Maybe, instead, Mike Jones, Jr. (LSU). Something about that name…Iowa HOMER!
