Still need to see more, but I will always believe that education is the silver bullet to poverty.
Silver bullet to poverty?

Conflating Stetson Bennett not graduating is two different topics and one has nothing to do with the other whatsoever.

You were trying to link him not graduating to him throwing 4 INTS and either not having the capability to grasp what’s going on or not having the work ethic and motivation.

A poor attempt I might add.

And that last line was the only thing that had anything to do with poor or poverty my good sir.

Bout to watch on NFL network.

I'll be sure to share my insightful complaints for all :laugh1::fistbump1:
It was blacked out for me. Up in FUCKING HUMBOLDT !!
How does that work ?
Its over 500 miles away and about a 8-9 hour drive and its BLACKED OUT ????????
There should be zero games blacked out where I live. Once I had a game in Seattle blacked out by these morons who do not have a clue about basic geography.

Welp, watched the game. Love the consolidated version on NFL network for efficiency sake.

General impressions:

Bennet had some solid throws including a nice TD throw. A pick in the end zone. Gotta improve there.

Lots and lots of chunk runs. Evans and. Scott were doing a nice job and someone needs to look closely at the Oline because they were once again solid.

DB’s playing solid coverage and breaking down in space with nice fundamentals. Both in open field and on those designed screens.

Couple LBers were showing up. Speights?

Wittington showed out again as a nice possession WR.

Nice play calling by pleasant. Not a ton of late calls. Nice run calls for big gains.

So... I believe we've found our other ILB. Speights is the real deal. When we signed him, the question was would we see the Oregon state Speights or the LSU Speights .... well... Go Beavers

Xavier Smith made some plays as well. I like how he fights for the ball....and he had some nice returns...

JJ Laap's college highlights had a bunch of post routes, and he got a nice one today. He's definitely going to be worth a practice squad spot....

overall a nice preseason win for us..

Son of a... . I thought this game was going to be on tomorrow and missed everything except the game winning running play. Anyone record this on their DVR and willing to post it somewhere? Is that a thing? Lol

My feeling is that trading Hoecht or Atwell could be a monumental mistake. Especially Hoecht. I've got a strong feeling that this team can compete for a Super Bowl this year. If they do, it's a long season; depth will be needed.

Having a strong rotation and being able to keep guys fresh is huge. Also, if Young or Verse go down, we'll want a vet like Hoecht to start. What if 2 OLBs were injured for a time? I just don't see a late pick or pick swap and $1.5 mil. in savings being worth losing vital depth when the team is a SB contender.

On Atwell, we wouldn't get anything valuable for him. In fact, it's possible a comp pick, once he signs elsewhere, could end up being more valuable than whatever we get in trade now. No one else brings the speed component that he does, he's good depth, and he may provide great value as a KR this year given the new rules.
It sounds like Tutu has been passed on the depth chart, if you go by practice, as hrs been working with the third team.. He's behind Whittington and Johnson. According to one article I've read he may have been passed up by Smith and Stoops. Trading him is the only way to get anything for him. His contract won't be big enough to create s comp pick, especially if the Rams sign someone.

Maybe they are testing him at kickoffs just to see if they can find something he excels at, before giving up. But they tried that in the past and it didn't work.

Am I wrong to be a bit concerned about Karty?
Most place-kickers, even the really good ones, struggle early-on.

Justin Tucker missed as many FGAs in his rookie season, as he did COMBINED in his next five seasons.

Even if Karty turns-out to be good, I think we should expect some inconsistency early-on. Hopefully, it will not cost the Rams a victory.

Well clearly Bennett is going to need more time and seasoning to be a QB2. He's not gonna be a quick study in that regard. Doesn't mean he can't make the team as a QB3 still, btw. But I suspect they'll be looking for a QB this week.

Now if the names out there aren't good enough, then it's possible they wait and sign a vet if something happens. But that's risky and means Bennett might need to finish a game vs a real defense and clearly he's not ready for that. So vet incoming I think.
Physics is his issue. Too short and not enough arm. Has to float it over the middle because he is not tall enough to see over the line and drive the ball.

That's why he only does well on roll outs or has a completely open pocket where he can see deep.

Too late to edit my post.

Should have written that Tucker missed as many FGAs from 40-49 yards as a rookie, as he missed in his next five seasons.

Then why isn't Tutu playing in preseason. Tyler Davis and Kinchens not suited up. Whittington, smith and stoops are and playing. There is no better barometer to who is playing on Sundays than that. Tutu is right where he was at the end of last season. Anything can happen as the season progresses, but at the beginning of the season Tutu is #4

Agreed. If Tutu has a similar impact to last year then there is plenty of value in that - especially as a deep threat and how that helps loosen things up closer the line of scrimmage!

Whittington looks great but you have to wonder how many snaps he will see when he reminds everyone of Kupp and Puka? He’s fantastic depth but let’s hope it stays that way

Bennett was atrocious. His lack of arm strength is becoming more apparent each time we see him play. The only throws he can make are those on the run, outside the pocket and the lack of zip on his throws says "pick 6" against legit NFL corners. The only throws he's making are against guys who's next stage of competitive football is the annual neighborhood Thanksgiving day rough touch game in the local park
6 turnovers in 2 games after 3 in 3 games last year. And this is pre-season, come reg season the windows get tighter, the corners close faster, the hits are much harder

He’s off to the practice squad once Jimmy G is available, count on it. He would be playing with better players which might help don’t you think? That said, I agree so let’s hope it never comes to that. I wish him all the best but am disappointed he didn’t come back looking stronger and more NFL ready despite taking needed time away

He played on special teams. I’m just telling you that from camp reports, Tutu is playing more third team than anything. Plus he’s not a rookie. Maybe they want to see the other guys play a bit more so they can make a decision on Atwell.

Tutu cannot block and he has to be schemed open to get off the line untouched. He’s very limited and not a great fit for anything McVay does. If he’s been passed up by other more versatile receivers, I totally understand it.

Very good point. He had a year to build a better physique. He looks small and thin.

Most of the receivers in these games are not getting any separation though. It makes his job harder and is likely why he leans hard on Whittington and yo some degree Smith.
