I think the chargers and Harb are gonna be in for a tough 1st year. They should have kicked our butt. They have very little talent outside 3-4 vets

My favorite thing about the McVay led Rams is the culture. Just watching the guys on the sidelines and the interactions with the coaching staff is such a huge win IMO. These guys like playing with each other and they like playing for the coaches.

Son of a... . I thought this game was going to be on tomorrow and missed everything except the game winning running play. Anyone record this on their DVR and willing to post it somewhere? Is that a thing? Lol

I haven't been able to keep up with our LB roster/depth chart as well as Id like but Speights can make this team, right?
Maybe he makes the 53 and Challenges Reeder for LILB next to Hummels as #2's behind Jones & Rozeboom as ILB 1's

I hope McVay stays forever. Don't think he'd go to another team. It's a big fat, cushy, TV deal we need to worry about.

Yeah if I'm Kroenke and start to think that Coach McVay is getting burned out I'd promote him to a team president type role to keep him if necessary before I'd watch him leave. He's the kind of dude you want in your organization.

IMO he's ILB #2 if not now he will be during the season. Hummell has been good too I just think Speights has more upside.
I hope so. I really want to see him vs NFL starters in real games. His instincts and sideline to sideline hustle with violent intent just screams natural MLB to me.

I am wondering if Hoecht could be traded. He counts $2.3M against the cap and a cut or trade results in no dead cap space. If Jackson is really showing up in camp and the DL has enough depth, I could see them moving him. A rookie replacement who makes $800K results in $1.5M in cap savings. That can be pushed to next yr.

Atwell is another that I can see them moving if they are sold on Smith and Whittington stepping up, along with Tyler Johnson. They lose speed, not sure how fast Smith is, but we all know it's the last yr of Atwell's contract, so he likley won't be back anyway. Getting a late pick or a flip of picks, couldn't hurt. They only have 7 picks next year.
My feeling is that trading Hoecht or Atwell could be a monumental mistake. Especially Hoecht. I've got a strong feeling that this team can compete for a Super Bowl this year. If they do, it's a long season; depth will be needed.

Having a strong rotation and being able to keep guys fresh is huge. Also, if Young or Verse go down, we'll want a vet like Hoecht to start. What if 2 OLBs were injured for a time? I just don't see a late pick or pick swap and $1.5 mil. in savings being worth losing vital depth when the team is a SB contender.

On Atwell, we wouldn't get anything valuable for him. In fact, it's possible a comp pick, once he signs elsewhere, could end up being more valuable than whatever we get in trade now. No one else brings the speed component that he does, he's good depth, and he may provide great value as a KR this year given the new rules.

Chris Shula is our DC now
Haven't seen anything from him yet. No game planning. No regular season offense to go against for 60 minutes.

I count 15 preseason games in which both teams scored 17 points or less. Teams league wide are not challenging defenses much at all.

And what annoys me is that they are considering Atwell No 1 for KR and PR and he has almost no experience in the reg season doing that. They should at least have him doing that in the preseason.
