Can you imagine if we turned into a run-first, playaction team for the playoffs with these two horses?! Loved the signing then (especially what he did to the Patsies as a bronco), love the signing even more now!

Would definitely alleviate a lot of pressure off Goff and open up the passing game.

Loved watching his intensity and the way he protected the ball. I also liked some things I saw from Kelly.

Man, Kelly absolutely stopped a rusher IN ... HIS ... TRACKS ... on the Goff TD pass to Woods. More of that, please.

As for CJ, does anyone who didn't like the signing still have the same opinion now?

The commitment to the run including more jet sweeps was just what the doctor ordered. I also liked the increased involvement of Everett in the game plan. I hope this will be engrained in the offense going forward.

I liked the signing but have to admit that I was dead wrong in that I thought he would just get a few carries to keep the Cards honest..Geez, he was like freaking runaway freight train..I was really, really impressed with his work today..

That fits right in with the Extreme Ownership, stay humble, praise others culture that's being built within the team. I love it. Sign his butt up for next year. Damn.

I'm thinking they won't due to his age. I imagine they believe they can get Kelly up to speed on pass pro by next year. He's also a very gifted runner. But man, I've always loved C.J. I'd be very happy if we kept him.

I have concerns that have not gone away...not until we play against another good-great team, and our Oline holds up. But if me being wrong means the Rams are kicking ass, then let me be wrong.

27 is old even for an RB? Yikes.
I was a little confused by @jrry32 's statement too. 27 send like a great age to sign him to a 1 or 2 year deal unless he had an injury history.

Assuming they can sign him to a sufficiently cheap contract I don't think age would be a problem.

Well, he'll be 28 years old next year and will cost more than a HB on a rookie contract. I think Anderson still has a few productive years in him, but the Rams are going to want to cuts costs where they can. If John Kelly can handle pass pro duties next year, he's a cheaper back with a similar skill-set.

However, if it were me, I'd sign CJA if he could be had cheap (like 2 years $3 million). Malcolm Brown is a UFA, and if the worst case scenario happened next year (significant Gurley injury), CJA could be a 1000+ yard HB in this offense. That all said, I imagine CJA might want to see what he can get paid in FA if he continues to play well for us.

Even when we keep in mind this was vs the Cards, it's pretty clear CJ changes the Rams' offense up a bit when he's in there. He's not a threat to bust a long TD, and he's not a threat in the passing game like TGII is. But he is very consistent in his vision and instincts wrt hole selection and when you get that it's easier for a play caller to keep going to the run game.

Not sure how he's going to look when it's the Bears or Cowboys or Saints in the playoffs and our OL is getting stuffed, but his physical style might be ideal.

Very excited about this guy, and again that's considering who we played today.

Yeah, reminds me of the sci-fi movie Logan’s Run, where all people are terminated once they reach the age of 30.

Kinda like NFL running backs...

167 yards @ 8.4 YPC = C.J. Anderson proving that wise teams don't mortgage their future on a RB, unless they are truly spectacular.
