The Yankees built an amazing dynasty twice in last 40 years with combination of homegrown talent, acquisitions of talent using prospects, bringing on "past prime veterans" who fit and lastly by sprinkling in a Free agent or two.
Yep, both clubs have/had the advantage over a majority of the league financially, but its been proven time and time again that spending big money doesnt guarantee success. Heck, more often than not, the teams that spend like crazy end up playing sub par. The Dodgers player development is completely unparalleled. There's no comparison to it
