Jeter, Mo, Posada, Bernie. Petite. All home grown Yankees and the core of their team.

But how do you figure the Rams biggest stars are homegrown? Hekker Kupp and Donald yeah. Then you have have Whitworth, Ramsey, Floyd, Miller, OBJ, Stafford. Cooks, Woods.

Pretty similar
Two biggest stars in the biggest game were homegrown. And football is a bit different. First off you can't keep all your stars due to the cap. And we have seen past stars or high level guys leave in FA or had to be traded for cap purposes. Also injury can be a factor, ie Gurley.

Then, you also find a few key players in FA, and every so often they are star caliber players.

Fact remains something like 15 or 16 starters on the SB team were homegrown players. Many more than what the Bengals had and I believe the Rams were top 5 in the league for most homegrown players overall.

And your point is what? Are you saying I’m wrong and that having Kroenke as owner doesn’t allow the Rams to do things that many other teams can’t because their owners aren’t all in on winning and making their franchise the greatest in the sport just like Steinbrenner was with the Yankees?

But I feel Rapp is a much better tackler on running plays.

Each has their strengths and weaknesses.

Which one would be a better fit for the Rams next year if Barron was same age as Rapp?

That I could not tell you.
Rapp is better on run plays but not even close to wagner, not that you're comparing the two.

I'm thinking from what Snead said about adjusting how they pressure the qb from last year, that jones may play that role while wagner shuts down the run. Would like to see both on third down with either jones or Floyd picking their best matchup on the dline. This would also give the rams more room to land a top CB.

Yes I've heard the statement the Rams have as many if not more home grown players who contribute significantly than many teams.

Akers, Henderson, Kupp, Higbee, Jefferson, Allen, Edwards, Havenstein, Donald, Gaines, Jones, Fuller, Raop, Scott, etc.

Sure Stafford, OBJ, Miller, Floyd, Ramsey, DWill, Whit, Woods were brought in but far more homegrown guys than not. That's how their system works. Draft well for starters and depth and bring in guys to fill the spots that are lacking.

I don't dislike any of them. I'd just like another veteran. Terrell Lewis just can't stay healthy.
Well I’m not going to question Scott Scott. What he did for Cooper Kupp was amazing. If The Rams needed T. Lewis IMO he plays a few more games. The extra time to get his knee & body right should really do wonders.

Oh.. I was thinking about 70s Yankees, tbh.
Turn of century was a different story… so, I guess that’s fair enough. They were an impressive organization at that time, for sure.

I said biggest Rams stars were drafted or traded for.

Not free agents.. so not “buying championships.”

Like the Dodgers.

But, my bad because I was just focused on an era.

Clicked on a thread in the Seattle Reddit titled “Worst Offseason in the history of the franchise” and this was the pic:

Kirk Gibson was a free agent, as was AJ Pollock. Justin Turner and Max Muncy, both signed as free agents. Spent big money on Zack Grienke, and last I checked your new 1B signed on as a big time free agent.....

I don't know who said it on here, but someone said it could actually HELP the Rams pass Rush because teams should be in 3rd and medium, 3rd and long more with a run stuffing LB. Should see more 3rd and 9s and whoever said that, I never thought of it that way, and agree completely.

Freeman has been the outlier, right?
I mean… every team signs some FAs these days, right?
But the Dodgers are more home grown than a ton of teams and have the best farm in baseball.
Hershiesher sure wasn’t.. but Dave Stewart, Bobby Welch, Eck.. Dave Henderson.

Anywho.. the Dodgers draft & develop.. the Rams do too.

Fantastic run by that team! Glad they won it all.
My boys were gassed. Trying to keep up with the Giants was a mistake, imo. Shoulda given guys a rest last couple of weeks. Oh, well.

I noticed they seemed gassed. That's what happens when you play in a tough division.

Just a quick comment on the addition of Wagner.

Although he figures to contribute in a number of ways on and off the field, I can envision him as a legitimate replacement for something the Rams lost this off-season ... the Team Leadership Role of Andrew Whitworth.

The Rams still have leaders ... Donald, Stafford, Kupp, Ramsey and others; and, Woods was another. However, Whitworth seemed to embody something bigger than everyone else ... something most teams don't have because there are only a handful of players in the entire League at any one time who have universal-respect across-the-board of teammates, coaches and even opponents.

Wagner might be one of those rare players.
