I think I posted this before, there’s a middle ground opinion on Kyren and that’s where I sit.
I’m glad he stabilized the position for us and he does some things really well, but we can and should be looking at finding an elite guy there that can take over games when other shit isn’t working.
This is a Sean McVay offense after all. Ya know?
Except McVay always seems to prefer guys just like Kyren. How many 5’-9” 200lb backs take over games? I don’t imagine it’s a long list. Gurley was 6’ 224 lbs, and drafted early in round 1. How long will it be until the Rams have a shot at that type of RB again? Then you also have the character fit that they seem to precisely weigh in selecting players. It may be a while until we see a back on the Rams that can take over a game.
I hope, Jarquez Hunter can succeed, but there’s a good chance he’s not any better than Kyren, or even worse. To use breakaway speed, there has to be some big holes to run through. I don’t always see that from the Rams Oline. I do like this line. I think it’s much better than recent assemblages. But Kyren works for every yard he gets.
