Thomas is from Miami and you know south florida boys are just different. He was recruited mainly by South Carolina and Alabama coming out of HS so had some pedigree. Definitely appears to be a lucky find for us.Keir Thomas I felt had a shot because he played at South Carolina & Florida State both upper tier programs. He's showcased enough for me because he plays the run & the pass well IMHO. I would keep him along with Garrett to back up Floyd, Hollins & Lewis.
Agree which is why McVay needs to draft one next year with a middle round pick. We need actual arm talent behind Stafford. The Rams don't invest money in back up OL or high draft picks in OL.....they certainly won't in a back up QB.
Definitely. Have to think they draft a depth QB this next offseason.Agree which is why McVay needs to draft one next year with a middle round pick. We need actual arm talent behind Stafford.
Just give me the next Jeff Kemp ~ @den-the-coachThe QBs to me do not deserve 3 spots on this team. So pick one. Wolf clearly had a good camp. Perk had good preseason games. Personally I would go Perk for reason of I don't trust Wolf to stay healthy. Perk is far more durable, he can take hits and get up whereas Wolf runs into players like a jackass and is a concussion waiting to happen. But I don't really care either way, just don't cut someone with promise for that QB3 role.
I like my men, like I like my Tea. And I don't like Tea.
Preseason backend determines depth. Looks like Williams will be drone end depth.Yes and you heard it in the voices of the boys in the last Between the Horns when they were discussing him vs Cincy in the practice. They were talking about how good he is in outside zone, how smoothly he catches the ball, how he has that tendency to "pop" out of the pile which is something certain backs just have. I'm just thankful the kid is healthy and the season is here with that room holy Christ.
He's quick too in a small space. Showed it last preseason as well. Might be our 3T backup to AD if he keeps developing but either way I really like his game just don't have him in there on run downs vs your bigger fronts.
Though I will credit him that he looks bigger this year to me. Not sure if true, but either way I love the way Henderson maximizes these guys.
I understand the reasoning and don't disagree with the approach. Just wish our backups were a bit better, but thats probably all fans across the NFL.The Rams don't invest money in back up OL or high draft picks in OL.....they certainly won't in a back up QB.
They definitely had a poor showing compared to the other two games. I have to wonder if they were told to play soft and not get hurt because they are locks already.I should add my big disappointment with the Rams DB performance yesterday. All OTA's & Training Camp I have been hearing about them & then McVay raving on about them too..
Then to see with my own eyes in preseason that IMO they are overall lacking in readiness & still need a ton of work. The rookies played mediocrely.... drafted rookies DB's Russ Yeast, Derion Kendrick & Decobie Durant left me feeling let down.
Then there is veteran DB Terrell Burgess.
No it doesn’t.Which doesn't make it good and twice is an exaggeration IMO.
It's funny that the debate is how strong is a weak armed QB's armNo it doesn’t.
But his release is twice as fast, and he’s got double the zip.
Train’s right.
(Plus us old guys stick together)
I suspect you are right about that. The two rooks were in there during practice vs the Bengals and their top guys and by all reports did fine. Plus the other two games. Absolutely nothing to worry about, I think they're for real. They definitely had a poor showing compared to the other two games. I have to wonder if they were told to play soft and not get hurt because they are locks already.
Agreed.I concur and unless the Rams make a deal or pick up someone off waivers I have the roster looking like this come September.
- Joe Noteboom
- David Edwards
- Brian Allen
- Coleman Shelton
- Rob Havenstein
- A.J. Jackson
- Tremayne Anchrum
- A.J. Arcuri
- Jeremiah Kolone
I never said the ENTIRE OL struggled either.True not much there this season to get excited about to consider retaining from what I have seen in preseason.
DC Morris's most talented new drafted safety Quentin Lake has been injured for some time now missing a large chunk of the needed training. drafted rookie Russ Yeast has been there for its entirety . Dan Isom plays better than Yeast but not by much. Former 3rd rd selection & now in his 3rd season, Terrell Burgess has played in all 3 preseason games & is the best of the mess but not by much.
DC Morris does have 3 young veteran starting-type safeties to field (2 will be UFA's in March, but overall this off-season has not seen any improvement as expected. Not a good situation.
I did not find all the entire OL putting in the shoddy effort fearsomefour. I have said plenty on Evans & Kolone thus far & it was NOT good. OG Brewer finally had a few poor blocks in gm 3 eben though his first 2 gms were mistake-free. Brewer was taking on those massive 350-plus NT's most of the game. The Bengals DL sure has some serious mass inside.
On the flip side, I did observe 2 rookie OL'ers who played very hard & mistake-free named Arcuri & Snyder. However, what was very noticeable was poor blocking by the TE's & WR on the field.
I don't think they told them anything like play soft or be careful. They just called a defense to keep it simple and lesson the risks.I suspect you are right about that. The two rooks were in there during practice vs the Bengals and their top guys and by all reports did fine. Plus the other two games. Absolutely nothing to worry about, I think they're for real.
