Pre-season his horrible and should be done with period.
I was just messing with youPre-season his horrible and should be done with period.
It still exists because the nfl wants some $$$
I like the individual play of preseason. 3 games feels about right to me.Pre-season his horrible and should be done with period.

Just saw that Solomon Kindley was released by Miami; and Blake Hance by Cleveland.Agree on Jenkins.
Also looking at Miami, with a new Head Coach and running philosophy; plus, two free agent OL now starting. Wondering about former starters like G/C Michael Deiter (Wisconsin grad, and the Rams have a few of them) and massive guard Solomon Kindley.
FYI ... Browning was waived.Likes: The Bengals back up QBs. If they cut Browning or Allen, the Rams need to get one of these guys. They are way better than Perk or Wolf. 90% of their passes were on targets and hitting their receivers in the numbers.
He's much better than Wolfy or Perkins. Why wouldn't we want him?FYI ... Browning was waived.
I don't see the Rams having an interest but I recalled you liked him.
Like I wrote earlier in this thread the other day, I thought Browning looked good against the Rams' soft-zone-coverage but I don't know that's an indication he is better than what the Rams have in Wolford and Perkins. He's much better than Wolfy or Perkins. Why wouldn't we want him?
they can schedule scrimmages against each other like they already do.I like the individual play of preseason. 3 games feels about right to me.
Does Lance McCutcheon stand out enough to make the team without preseason games? The preseason games showed how he matched up against NFL talent.
they can schedule scrimmages against each other ect if they want some pre-season tests. If they're going to completely do away with preseason they need some kind of farm team systems connected to each team like the MLB. There just aren't enough reps in training camp to evaluate all the players on the bottom of the rosters and the restrictions on contact in training camp make it that much harder. You may not enjoy watching it but its the only way some of these kids really get a chance to be noticed.
Yeah but we now have 17 regular season games vs 14 games.Preseason used to be cool back in the 70s. Didn't catch too many exhibition Ram games on TV then, but found them on the radio. I remember listening to the 1977 preseason when Rams got Namath. They were playing the Vikings in a title game rematch from the year before. Rams were winning, but those damn Vikes blocked a punt to steal the game 22-17.
Back then injury concerns didn't keep anyone from playing if they could play and didn't have contract issues. So starters would play the first halves of each game, and there were 6 preseason games! I remember thinking when the Rams won a good preseason game I wished it would've counted. And when they lost I was like, whew good thing it's preseason.
One preseason play stands out vividly in my mind (plus I still have the pics from the LA Times). Wendell Tyler running over Jack Tatum as the Ram beat the Raiders in 1978. Never counted, never highlighted in NFL films, but it happened. On a running play Tyler broke into the open in the middle of the field, Tatum closed in on him for the hit, Tyler lowered his head and there was a collision, and then he spun around and kept going as Tatum fell to the ground. Classic stuff.
These last 10+ years watching preseason can be very boring. I get it, watching the rooks and seeing them shine, but yeah there are definitely some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz moments.
Don't remember this one but do remember him doing that to Jack Ham of the Steelers. knocked him on his ass!One preseason play stands out vividly in my mind (plus I still have the pics from the LA Times).
