This is the best defense we have had in quite some time. And we have had some good ones recently.

We are way more consistent than during the Fisher years, when we did have some serious talent on that side of the ball.

We have a true lockdown corner in Ramsey.

We have the best defensive player in the game in Donald.

Our depth at nearly all positions, save LB, is outstanding... even if our edge rushers lack much high-end talent after Floyd.

Our secondary, in particular, might be the best and deepest unit in the league.

The amount of turnovers being generated is really picking up.

It took Staley some time to figure things out schematically, which to be fair, probably should have been expected as a new coordinator without a real pre-season due to covid-19. But he now has this unit absolutely flying out there.

When the defense does show weaknesses, Staley has proven extremely capable of making in-game adjustments. Which to me, has been the biggest, most visible, and most influential improvement from previous seasons.

Health-wise, we are starting to get players back with Okoronkwo and Robinson recently returning, and apparently soon Lewis and Kiser. Hopefully, we can stay healthy.

Even our LBers, likely the weakness of this defensive roster, have looked great lately.

Defense travels and defense wins championships. I truly believe we could win the Superbowl on the strength of this unit. The offense is streaky, imperfect, and has some flaws. But I think is it is good enough the score enough points to win with this defensive group backing it.

The only thing that gives me pause is Kansas City in the AFC. We have not faced a test like them all year, and probably will not, unless we play the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. I am not entirely sure if the Chiefs can be stopped, with that QB, those weapons, and Andy Reid drawing up the plays. The only time the Chiefs seem to be able to be slowed down, is when the Chiefs look disinterested and play down to the level of their competition. It will be an interesting matchup, should we see it.

My thoughts is what do the goff haters do after we win ? ... that Rock they crawl under must help getting pretty crowded

If history tells us anything, this win won't change the narrative about Goff. He can play four great games and if he has a stinker again, that will be all that some people remember. They will say it was all about the defense and running game.

It's too bad. Fortunately, it won't keep him from improving. Those who only cherry pick his errors will have their voice but it won't change the reality. Goff is part of a team that is improving in many ways.

Mahomes is special, but our defense is great. They don't have to shut him down. If they slow him down, we have a chance. Plus, KC's defense is bad against the run. However, we have a long road ahead of us.

The chiefs scare me.... but we did beat them
With thier weapons and mahomes and Andy Reid ... with a worse D than what we have now ... I like our chances

My thoughts is what do the goff haters do after we win ?

Is that really your takeaway and thoughts following the game? Not how dominant Akers was? Not how the OL played? Not how absolutely smothering our defense was?

You're thinking about the people criticizing Goff? There's something wrong with that honestly. Goff was very average today. This game was won by Akers and the defense 100%.

Its not being a Goff hater to say he needs to play better when he clearly does. Wake up and stop being a sheep.

Complete beatdown. I thought mcvay having Goff pass with under six minutes was an attempt to show up bellichek
The Rams are so comfortable with their defense that they go into conservative offense way too soon, almost the whole 4th quarter tonight.
We went 3 and out twice in a row with out a pass. I hope they finally realized that they still needed to move the ball. Against better teams, we can't sit on the ball too early.
