Is that really your takeaway and thoughts following the game? Not how dominant Akers was? Not how the OL played? Not how absolutely smothering our defense was?

You're thinking about the people criticizing Goff? There's something wrong with that honestly. Goff was very average today. This game was won by Akers and the defense 100%.

Its not being a Goff hater to say he needs to play better when he clearly does. Wake up and stop being a sheep.
Funny. Your only takeaway from every loss is how goff lost it for us. Every. Single. Time. On top of that you basically said goff had nothing to do with the win... even though he had 14 points with his name on it? Lol okay bud.

Yea-Goff played pretty average in my opinion. Not good not bad. Just average (Belichek and good defensive teams can do that)- Which in my opinion with this defense can beat 90% of the teams in this league. The elite teams we need Goff to be at the top of his game. I would take a Goff performance like todays any day if our defense and running game plays like they did.

This is going to be a 2nd bye for us in the season. Hopefully GB finds a way to lose another game and we keep our winning ways so we don't need to visit the ice box.

Goff does so many things so well that helped us win that game. His cadence command, his play fakes, his ball handling, he was perfect on 4th down, scored two TDs and did everything he was asked to.
He wasn't average tonight, he faced Bill Belichicks D on primetime and avoided mistakes despite some lousy protection on his dropbacks. He had a good game.
The Pats tried to get Goff to take the bait and he didn't.
Because we didn't have to throw a lot, we didn't. Missing our All Pro LT might have something to do with that..
There were a couple throws that weren't good enough and a couple that were that were good enough but were dropped.

Goff played winning football when we needed him to. Again.

This game was an interesting contrast to the TB game....in that one, we couldn't run at all, and threw almost all night, and won on the strength our elite defence. Tonight, we ran all night and won on the strength of our defence. Honestly, this kind of win puts something else on tape that an opposing d-coordinator will have to look at and wonder how can they stop us. You can't take away either the run or pass, cause we're gonna beat you either way. And know that your team won't score much on us, so there's a very little margin for error

Goff played a tremendous game.

His WR's didn't help him, his blocking failed him and the constant penalties he found a way to overcome. He found a way to make several critical plays when needed without forcing anything.

That is how great QB's play vs top defenses and Billichek defenses. Control the ball and manufacture drives.

If Mcvay didn't go into burn clock mode in the 3rd quarter Goff would have continued torching them.

Goff’s second quarter was a tad off but otherwise he played very well in the first and third quarters. As usual McVay goes ultra conservative in the fourth quarter when he has a two score or more lead.

I love what I saw from Goff tonight. He’s learning from mistakes and weakness and growing. Huge improvement tonight in feeling pressure, stepping up in pocket, knowing when to take a sack or throw it away. That’s the last step in his progression and Tonight I saw it.

Even on the pick, Woods caught the ball, and the DB stole it from him. Goff played pretty well.

I'd like to talk about Troy Reeder. I don't think Kiser gets his job back. What a great position for the Rams to be in. Champagne problems

@Giles @badnews My point was on a night where Akers and the defense completely dominated, this guy wants to talk about Goff. We are literally witnessing the best defense in the history of our organization. Tonight was a masterclass put on by Staley and our Defense..a masterclass. Our rookie RB set the record for yardage in 2020 by rookie RBs. 2nd in our franchise's history for a rookie. Why isnt that the narrative? Why isn't that people's focus? Its so ridiculous people are talking about Goff on a night like tonight when we had two A+ performances we could be focusing on.

I think Goff played average tonight, because he wasn't asked to do too much. Akers literally ran for more yards than he passed for. But the problem around here with certain posters like yourselves is as soon as someone points out a Goff mistake or an area he can improve on, like the INT to Woods which was a bad throw, you immediately get called a Goff hater. IMMEDIDATELY. I give him lots of props when he plays well and highlight his great decision/throws, the same way I highlight areas he needs to improve and criticize him after the MIA and SF losses. The problem is you can no longer say Goff needs to improve in any area before you get swarmed by 10 posters calling you a Goff hater. And that is fucking bullshit. Ya'll need to grow some thicker skin if any bit of criticism gets you upset.

I thought belicheat would take away the run game and force Goff to beat him, but he didn't. When you can run it like we did tonight, why throw it much? Great defense and solid running game = play off winning football.

I respect the job Reeder is doing, but Kiser is better. Kiser has better range and is more consistent filling gaps in the running game. I wish he could stay healthy. There were a few runs where we got gashed tonight because Reeder either jumped into the wrong gap or wasn't quick enough to fill. Kiser is better there and has more speed to the sidelines. But I don't want to dog Reeder. He's a backup who is playing solid football.

Maybe you can recognize the contradiction in the logic of downplaying yards and glorifying TD's.

People downplay Goff's passing yards all the time since we run the ball in for TD's which makes Goff's TD's and "QB stats" look subpar. Goff is near top 5 in passing yards every year and top 3 over the last 4 years. But his TD's come in the run game.

So on a night where Cam Akers had 171 yards and zero TD's but Goff had the 2 TD's your argument then conveniently switches to emphasizing yards and saying Goff played "average" even though he had 2 TD's in essentially 3Q of football, because as we all saw Mcvay went burn clock.

You also slam Goff for turnovers and we agree he needed to protect the ball better. But on a night where Goff has only 1 turnover to a Billicheck defense (On a ball his WR had in his hands) you give no props to Goff for minimizing turnovers.

Can you not see how the vast majority of people here would see your arguments as unfair and being overly critical?

Reeder made some plays, like cutting off the pitch option to the RB on 4th and goal, thereby causing Cam Newton to get stuffed.

At least I think that was Reeder, if I'm mistaken I'm sure someone will point it out.

Yea I don't remember off the top of my head.

But regarding Reeder, He is an excellent play vs a team like the Pats. But when we face the Kamara's and Jones in the playoffs, presumably, or even Russell Wilson, Reeder could be a huge liability. Reeder would get owned vs fast little RB's or QB's.

I still remember Littleton unable to cover Kamara play after play in the short pass game. We need an answer for that this time around and it aint Reeder. Projecting out a little, if we do play the Saints, which I think is our biggest challenge, I hope Ramsey mans up Thomas and Staley has a double team zone option to cover Kamara. I hope we can use smaller quick guys in that role and not Reeder or Kiser.

It’s not like Goff had a great game lol

He played well enough for the Rams to win by 3 touchdowns. Is that not good enough? Does he need to throw no look passes? Does he need to run around like a headless chicken then throw the ball? Does he need to run even though he's able to throw the ball to an open receiver? What was it that he did badly?
