Thomas Brown makes the most sense for OC next year so they can get more comp picks.

Make Greg Olson the QB coach and he could take OC over the following year.

I'd love for the Rams to bring in some fresh blood for the offense. I think mcVay has to focus on a different running scheme to mix in with his zone running. Teams seem to have figured out how to shoot our gaps and neutralize it.

Charles London is in his first season as quarterbacks coach for the Atlanta Falcons and his 13th season in the NFL.

London comes to Atlanta having most recently served as the running backs coach for the Chicago Bears for the past three seasons.

In 2020, Bears running back David Montgomery set single season career highs for rushing yards (1,070), receiving yards (438) and total touchdowns (10). Montgomery was the only running back with at least 1,000 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards in the NFL last season and became the first Bears running back to rush for a touchdown in five consecutive games since Neal Anderson in 1990. In two seasons with London, Montgomery rushed for 1,959 yards, the eighth-most in the NFL over that span.

Under London's watch in 2018, Bears running back Tarik Cohen enjoyed a breakout season, both as a running back and a punt return specialist, while Jordan Howard nearly eclipsed the 1,000-yard milestone for a third consecutive season with 935 yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Cohen led the team with 71 catches out of the backfield for a team-high 725 yards and five scores, while also rushing 99 times for 444 yards and three touchdowns.

Prior to his time in Chicago, London spent four seasons as the running backs coach for the Houston Texans where the team won back-to-back AFC South division titles in 2015 and 2016 and finished with a winning record in three consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise history. In each of London's first three seasons with the team, the Texans ranked third in the AFC and sixth in the NFL in rushing yards per game.

London also spent two seasons (2012-13) at Penn State as the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. In two seasons with London, running back Zach Zwinak rushed for 1,989 yards, the third-most in the Big Ten over that span.

In 2011, London served as an offensive assistant and quality control coach for the Tennessee Titans and spent the 2010 season as a pro scout for the Philadelphia Eagles. Prior to that, he worked for three years as an offensive assistant with the Chicago Bears (2007-09) – his first year as a quality control coach on offense and his final two years as an offensive assistant/assistant wide receivers coach.

The Dunwoody, Ga., native also coached for three seasons at his alma mater, Duke University. London served as a graduate assistant from 2004-05 and was elevated to running backs coach in 2006.

Here we go, has a history as RB Coach before getting the job as QB Coach with the Falcons. Wonder a couple of things here, could he be Brown's replacement if Brown moves to the Vikings and maybe he takes Brown's job as RB Coach/Assistant HC because I have to believe that Liam Coen is coming back as OC and Greg Olson as QB Coach unless the Rams promote or keep Brown in his current role.

Now why would London now coaching QB's go back to RB's unless he's really after the Assistant HC Tag? All we can do now is speculate?

I think the Rooney Rule (two candidates of color from outside and organization) also applies to coordinators.

London and Hankton would satisfy that requirement.

I like both Brown and Phillips from within but have been on the Liam Coen bandwagon for a while.

Now, if it's Brown or Phillips, there could be openings for passing game coordinator or running game coordinator. Perhaps both, if Brown or Phillips got OC, and the other left for an OC job elsewhere.

Could see Robinson getting bumped to QB-coach. Finally, hoping the Rams do not lose DL-coach Henderson.

I'd be down for Coen at OC but I'd like to bring in some additional help at run game coordinator and pass game coordinator. The more quality minds we have helping McVay the better. Hope we make 2-3 hires just for the offense. McVay should have a blank check from Kronke to bring in additional assistant coaches he deems necessary.

Either Thomas Brown or Wes Phillips would need to get promoted or go elsewhere because they currently have the run and pass game coordinator titles.

Hankton spent the last couple years with Todd Monken at UGA. Monken is a really good OC that I guess you could say specializes in big plays in the passing game. The only thing my UGA buddies didn’t like about Hankton was that he wasn’t a great recruiter—which wouldn’t matter one bit in the NFL.

I'm sure McVay could work that out somehow by giving a senior title or different responsibilities. Our run game was pretty bad this year so I'd bet Thomas Brown doesn't have that job next year.
