Football related injuries are a bitch for everyone involved. I suppose that’s one reason why they went with ARob. I love what OBJ brings to the table and (probably) the locker room, though. I’d sure like to see him in horns.

If the Rams get healthy this year, we might get hot at some point. The tide needs to turn, though. Our OL is a hot mess.

This year may be like what the niners dealt with last year.

OBJ can't even practice right now, yet he wants a big (guaranteed?) contract. He might not be the same player. Yeah, I think Allen Robinson was brought in to replace him. Then they have Van, Skow, Harris, Tutu, Powell, and McClutch. Loved OBJ in horns but probably not gonna happen.

I think the Rams decided they can't afford to trust his knee. Because signing him would have required a multi year deal and they're not in a position to whiff on a WR contract.

Which magnifies Robinson's slow start for sure.

I loved what OBJ bright to the offense last year but even when he's finally recovered from another ACL tear, how long is it going to take him to get back to being the player he was if that ever even happens? With the struggles ARob has had getting into the offense this year, we definitely can't afford to be stuck with 2 WRs that aren't contributing.

Only thing I could say is I am aware of our problems and I do feel even with a shit o-line a healthy obj would of helped as he is slick can get to open space and run after the catch however that's a difficult ask after surgery.

Having said that I do love the guy was an advocate before he was even released and again I know there are other problems to fix but it's like just bad news after bad news it's kind of debilitating piling up. Not for nothing either but if he is healthy and this season is a wash I'd word his contract a certain way both parties ok with but I'd sign him 3 years and peace out ARob on the off season if whatever is going on doesn't get fixed. And honestly if Obj is healthy then look to trade him (ARob)

Having Van bk could help alleviate some of this assuming the line can even hold up a tad better and may help ARob but again I'm still confused as to why ARob needs help it's not making sense.

OBJ ain’t the only show in town. I appreciate what he did for the Rams last year but remembering back it took about 4 games for him to contribute. Long term IOL, Edge, then a RB with great receiving skills come before OBJ in priority.

A healthy OBJ is worth a pretty penny.

I'm sure he wasn't offered what he's worth, but he needs to get healthy first.

I just have the gut feeling that it’d be a big mistake not getting OBJ back. Regardless, the OL needs to function for him to contribute like he did last year.

public negotiation tactics
The thread started because he was spotted at the Buffalo airport in Bills gear then went on to pretty much say LA missed their chance due to the offer. I knew he wouldn't resign once Von left and we were playing contract chicken with him.

The timing of this is either appreciate for Obj and his team but so shitty for us the fans. So much going on here now then this on top of everything a lot of Rams fans are fickle as it is last thing we need is ship jumpers. We still have trouble in SoFi and we won a Superbowl imagine we hit dark years the fans showy fans will find 1000 other things to do. Man this is all depressing not just obj but everything hitting at once.

I knew (OF) OBJ, to the extent everyone else did - one hand grab, orange Rolls etc., but honestly had no idea how fucking good he was till he joined the Rams last year.
Lots to agree with in all the above posts, pro and con. I'm praying we find a way to get/keep him, with some kind of out for if/when he reinjures himself.
That said, we DID win the SB without him for the most part (even though he did a ton for the time he was in).
Tough, tough call.

But man, he is SO good...:sunglasses:
