Hawaii LB Jahlani Tavai visited Rams on Monday

The doors at the Los Angeles Rams’ facility have been swinging open in recent weeks ahead of the 2019 NFL draft. Prospects at several positions have been taking visits with the Rams as the team tries to not only get a better look at certain players, but build the best draft board possible.
The Rams were busy on Monday,
hosting Sione Takitaki from BYU and Hawaii linebacker Jahlani Tavai for official pre-draft visits. The news was reported by Josh Norris of Rotoworld.

Both are off-ball linebackers who would add depth inside. Neither would be surefire starters in 2019, but they would compete for snaps with Micah Kiser and whoever else the Rams have at that spot.
Tavai is projected as a mid-round pick, likely landing early on Day 3. He has great size at 6-foot-2, 250 pounds, but he isn’t the best athlete. For what the Rams need at inside linebacker – a thumper-type who’s strong against the run – Tavai warrants consideration.
In his career at Hawaii, Tavai racked up 390 total tackles (41 for loss), 16.5 sacks, two interceptions and three forced fumbles.
