With their very disappointing current season and the lack of high draft picks what are your thoughts on the Rams future (Next Few Years)?

I am not trying to be pessimistic but with the lack of high draft picks, some key health issues and free agency do the Rams have the ability and resources (Money, etc) to get the Rams back in contention?

Hope I am wrong but it definiely seems like a major task/challenge for McVay and Snead!!!

But, At least the Rams have the Super Bowl Title from last season that nobody can take away!!!

I think they could bounce back next year and, with good health, be a playoff team again.

I want them to keep their first round picks from now on, though.

Get everyone back healthy, Get good players like normal, and adjust. The draft is 7 rounds not one.

They'll be fine.

YES, a great 2023 draft combined with the positive development of earlier depth players, that and a few key free agents can turn us around in a hurry. It's up to our Scouts & Snead to get it right now.

I still think the Rams have the pieces to compete for another year or two. We have elite players at key positions (Ramsey at CB, Kupp at WR, Stafford at QB). And some elite players at positions that, although less important in today's NFL, still can make a difference (Bobby Wagner, who has somehow turned back the clock and is grading out as among the league's top LBers consistently).

This year's o-line disaster surely will not be repeated, and the o-line is the engine of any offense. AJ Jackson has been a boon. The o-line when fully healthy looks pretty good with that gem having been found.

I am very encouraged by Robinson's play as of late. I think he will make a very good #2 WR behind Kupp once we can get a healthy offensive line back to actually maximize his skill set.

We need a RB but either via the draft or free agency (lots of goods one set to become FAs this year) that should be quite doable.

The defence should be vastly improved just by getting a better DC, which hopefully happens sooner rather than later. On that note, hopefully McVay can re-invent the offense, because as much as Morris' ultra soft coverage is killing us, the offense has been 100x worse.

Pass rush is an issue that will be hard to solve but every team has holes.

I trust this front office can get it done to re-tool the Rams' roster in the off-season for another run. My biggest concern though is that McVay will be unable to field a competent offense without absolutely elite pass protection. You can't count on that level of pass pro every single season.

I know they can’t and they won’t, but….if Kupp is out for the year, I wish they’d just sit Stafford, AD, and Ramsey with bogus injuries the rest of the way. There’s only 1-2 more years left with this core group after this season. Why put unnecessary mileage on their tires? Quite frankly putting Stafford back out there behind this line feels like an unnecessary dice roll.

Add a couple of solid (they don’t have to be all pros) veterans on the OL, a dynamic young RB, a pass rush specialist, and have better luck on the injury front…

Does anyone have any ideas on what the Rams situation is with their salary cap at this point going into the offseason? I know a lot can happen between now and then but are the Rams supposed to get some cap relief that could help them sign some decent Free Agents (Offensive Linemen, etc) this offseason?

Well they might have a top 40 pick and a top 10 pick in rounds 3 & 6. And they could have at least 10 picks this yr prior to trade downs or trade ups due to 4 comp picks and other late round traded picks that they will be getting.

So they could easily trade down in round 2 to get another top 100 pick and still grab a top caliber interior OL. Or trade up for a top 30 prospect.

The biggest issue is for McVay to tweak his offensive philosophy to take pressure off of Stafford and the pass blocking aspect of the OL.

Go get a great run game coordinator. Not sure our former RB coach is the answer in his role and Carberry has not impressed as well.

So I see enough overall talent. They just need to beef up both lines by adding some young talent & maybe a vet FA. Then fix the schemes, especially the run game and on defense the soft shell garbage.

Do that and they will no longer get pushed around in the trenches as consistently as they do now.

That will go along way in getting them back on track.

The Rams can bounce back next year if they upgrade the line and RB positions. They have Kupp and Robinson. I would think Stafford will be more comfortable with Robinson by then.

The defense should be ok. Probably not a top 5 unit but good enough if they upgrade the edges. Donald is still elite. Ramsey too. Wagner is solid.

After that it gets iffy. Donald will be 33 in 2024. Wagner 34. Floyd and Ramsey will be in their 30's. So will Kupp and Robinson. I think for at least a couple years they should be holding on to their picks. They likely won't be in a position where they just need one missing piece like last year.

Not good.... will have to restructure some deals and even then they won't have much to spend.

No high draft picks? They have a 2nd & 3rd next year ..... and right now, they're looking pretty high. They will sign a few free agents and hopefully draft a few studs. Plus they always get additional comp picks. In the 2024 draft they have their full compliment of picks except they have two 6ths and no 7th. They ain't going anywhere. They'll be back next year if they stay relatively healthy (mainly Stafford, Kupp, AD, Ramsey and whomever plays on the O line).

The 2023 CAP may not look pretty from where we are standing right now, but things can improve quickly with trades and/or CAP Casualty cuts. Guys like Stafford, Kupp, Ramsey, Donald, Havenstein & Allen Robinson look safe for next year as their 'Dead Money' CAP hit is likely too expensive to deal with, where Floyd, Wagner, Noteboom, Higbee, Van Jefferson & Brian Allen are more vulnerable to trade discussions and freeing up CAP space while potentially adding draft picks.
The other thing to consider with acquiring the more talented free agents, while I won't expect many, their first year of a fairly long term contract is generally quite team friendly, so the real expenses don't hit the team bottom line until a year later (2024).

This is gonna be a 2-3 season process to get back to contender status. They'll have to keep and use the higher-round picks smartly.

Probably gonna have to make some Cap cuts and get smarter in FA.

Depends on the prognosis for players like Alaric Jackson. Anchrum, Bruss, etc. going into the offseason whether it can be called grim or not.
Bad situation right now, but also an opportunity to see where more or better depth is needed for next season.
Going to be an interesting challenge.

I just don't know.
Health is just the biggest X factor. People can say... "Noteboom and Allen were injury risks"... but.. this situation is just ridiculous, as far as Oline injuries go.
Part of me agrees with you.
The other part says that, if they're healthy on the Oline and have fierce competition for the starting guard spots... and draft a good RB.. that they could be really good again, really fast.
But.. goddamn, this year.

The Rams were lucky & went all in!! I thought there core team & ascending players were better than they were.

The Fact Les Snead & Sean Mcvay went with Tutu Atwell instead of drafting an Offensive Line man(center) is disturbing. Lance Dickerson was my choice.I would have traded up,but with Creed there I can’t see how The Rams passed him up.
My point is actually a 2 fold. I HATE small WR’s!! J. Joyner is another example if Fiaher played him at FS that might have made a difference. Les snead(Demoff?) seem to like small wr’s. Tavon Austin was such a BAD CHOICE. Moving up in the Draft was HORRIBLE!!
I loved Tavon’s PR ability. He was such a talented player, but size was the issue. Tutu Atwell look like a Wet Rat.I won’t go there & only wish him the best!!
It just the need.

—Brussss is a BUST!! From what I saw in training camp. He wouldn’t have done much better & A’Jackson at RG has looked good. Then he had to be moved to LT.
Is this new LT going to be any good? I like the practice squad guy. Careberry has his work cut out for him. Aaron Kromer was an(is) an excellent O’Line coach.
—Still LMAO at all the Haters.
I will say though he got too big for his britches. Then again The Rams run game has been crap ever since he left.

Well, we’ll see how the season plays out . K. Williams is healthy & had more snaps than Cam Akers.
HENDO is a FA. Cam had a couple of ok runs last week.

The O’Line will only be better because of all this.I think The Rams are building Solid Depth up Front. A lot of Cross-training as well witch only adds to the depth.
