Agree.
Sometimes I post this stuff hoping that I am missing something, that I am wrong and another poster will set me straight. That's why I attached the excerpt from the ESPN article.
No it makes perfect sense, bc nothing makes sense any more regarding this crap.

Man. If something doesn't change we might get completely screwed here fellas. But I'll say this if we somehow have to forfeit the game or we have to field 3/4 of backups I'll be done watching any football until the NFL changes their rules. At this point it's gone beyond dumb. But I'll hope for the best
My understanding of this is we will not be imposed a forfeit. That is only a result handed to a team that did not follow the protocols. We are nearly a fully vaxxed team. We followed the protocols to a T. Forfeit is not an option. At this point, since we have had literally nobody cleared from the tests that were from last Saturday, I don't even think bumping the game to Tuesday is sufficient. We literally do not currently have a secondary, period. Those are not positions we can just go out on the street and find. WFT is down to a street FA just signed today to start for them this weekend. How is this fair for the players that have shed blood, sweat, and tears to get the records they have now and are in contention for playoff bids?

Also, if I'm understanding it correctly, all teams not in the protocols don't test except on Saturdays and Tuesdays? Thus the hags are going to be testing Saturday and likely have several more positives. Can't tell me those 2 guys are going to be the only ones.

Stefanski is out...who just got covid the first time in January. Its obvious this shit is going to keep infecting people year after year.

"Player Safety", what a joke
Is the league really concerned about safety if a team is going to play a game when they arent able to practice all week?
Not only that but don't they only test weekly if there's not an outbreak? So between the time they test and game time, a guy can't contract Covid? And then spread it during a game (or practice)? Of course they don't "believe" it can be spread during a game (per Dr. Sills). All that heavy breathing and exertion doesn't spread droplets? They don't care how many guys have Covid, they care about how many guys the public knows has covid. And their certainly not concerned about the health of players. Never have been. They're concerned about profits.

And as fans, we're concerned about winning.

And the longer it goes, the less troublesome it is. It will eventually be nothing more than another cold.

Do you hear the dog that isn't barking? Namely, none of these players are ending up with any kind of serious illness.

So it’s the players association not the “NFL” who wants the testing.

The “positive” is nebulous and has never really meant anything concrete. Even the cdc admitted they can’t distinguish different types of corona that might trigger a positive test.

Thank you for contacting CDC-INFO. We are sorry for the delay in responding to your inquiry. A recent high volume of inquiries has delayed our response.

We hope you find the following response from the appropriate CDC program helpful.

At this time, there is not enough information available about the virus that causes COVID-19 to know how likely it is that it could combine with other coronaviruses, although we do know that coronaviruses in general are known to mutate and combine with other coronaviruses.

Yep. Covid is here to stay. It's a virus that isn't going anywhere. Hopefully some more changes are on the horizon to make this more manageable and still have an actual league and product.

At this point, they also need to just simply stop testing people that are asymptomatic. It's fucking insane.
The point of the testing is to contain the spread of the virus. Asymptomatic people can still spread it.

Eventually, it's going to be treated like the flu. It's unfortunate that we weren't able to eradicate it.

The number one symptom of the virus is never even knowing you've contracted it. It's seriously the most common symptom. However, a person without symptoms is no less likely to transmit than a person with symptoms, and a person who has been jabbed is no less likely to carry a viral load to infect others than the flip sides of these coins.

So if the league is going to allow asymptomatic people who are nonetheless positive to play, and to further not even test these individuals, then we've come to another nonsensical standard. Either the league needs to just treat this like any other flu bug and make it individual decisions or else shut the whole league down for a couple of weeks and lock down all the personnel until it's achieved a "reset". This "you can play if you have it but don't feel bad but can't play if you have a headache" garbage is not only ridiculously confused messaging, it just reveals that either nobody knows what the hell they're doing in the league office or they aren't sure how to just come out and say to the public "you all need to stop panicking, it's been 2 years and we're moving on". But this caste system they've created is Idiocracy codified.

I see no way the NFL forces Rams into a forfeit when they are in the thick off the playoff race andits a divisional game. A loss gives the Cards the division title (I think)

Postpone the game or let the affected players on the field
