Still owning pick #13 and not an expensive, older distraction….
I read the option bonus as being prorated as if it's been paid already and is just avged in across the contract. Of course these deals are confusing. Not sure what the difference between a prorated option bonus and a prorated bonus, unless that is guarantees he earned each year on the deal up to that point. I know in Philly the radio talking heads have been saying that he has no guaranteed money after this year. His 2026 base is is only 1.3 mill but he also has an option Bonus of 27.4 mill which is all guaranteed.
For 2027, he has 4 mill guaranteed of a total of approx 20 mill
So basically trading for him is a 2 year 50 mill deal
His option bonus are paid annually.I read the option bonus as being prorated as if it's been paid already and is just avged in across the contract. Of course these deals are confusing. In any event, I am hoping they don't do it unless he comes cheaply in terms draft pick compensation.

3 or 4 more good yearsAJ Brown is a top 10 WR, but he’ll be 29 in June.
If the bonus was already paid then it is nothing more than a cap hit and the Rams would not be required to carry that. It doesn't sound right though, cause if he is only a 1.3 mil cap hit this year why trade him.I read the option bonus as being prorated as if it's been paid already and is just avged in across the contract. Well, because they paid a large bonuse up front, and apparently annual option bonuses that are prorated in for cap purposes. That is why they will take huge dead cap hit if traded pre June 1st.If the bonus was already paid then it is nothing more than a cap hit and the Rams would not be required to carry that. It doesn't sound right though, cause if he is only a 1.3 mil cap hit this year why trade him.
homer!Sounds like the Rams (McVay) feel he'd fit in so I'm good with us getting him.
After seeing this response to a question from another poster, all I can say is this does not answer the question and is a response you would expect from a troll. Someone who is looking only to be heard and acknowledged while not listening to the opinions of others. You did see I gave your response a trophy in agreement.
It's funny, once you ignore him on the board, it just seems like there's a really annoying ghost that bugs everyone else but me as I can't hear or see them. After seeing this response to a question from another poster, all I can say is this does not answer the question and is a response you would expect from a troll. Its not up to me but please take your annoying act somewhere else.
Luckily for them then, we won't be picking anywhere but 32 in the next 2 drafts. The conspiracy theorist in me says Rams really don't want to be picking at 13. Not that they would trade 13 straight up for Brown but that they would use it in a pick swap.
I think the Rams REALLY don't want to be picking at 13.
This is a very interesting point, if we believe we're picking 32 next year, there's very little chance we'll be in the QB sweepstakes in the 27 draft no matter how much future capital we throw at teams. So... does next years one become a chip for either a player (Brown) or something else...Luckily for them then, we won't be picking anywhere but 32 in the next 2 drafts.
Yeah it kinda seems like they are not a big fan of this draft class. At least from an immediate impact perspective. Can’t argue that. The conspiracy theorist in me says Rams really don't want to be picking at 13. Not that they would trade 13 straight up for Brown but that they would use it in a pick swap.

Big difference. Prorated signing bonuses are absorbed by the trading team.I read the option bonus as being prorated as if it's been paid already and is just avged in across the contract.
