All Pro with the Vikings twice and the Bears twice. If you don’t think that is a good use of a low first round pick then I don’t know what to say. You want to be right and win a trophy? Reply and I’ll give you one.

Wow. OK. You were the one who stated he didn't want to go back and forth but kept replying.

I wouldn't know what else to say if I shared such an opinion either. Teams simply don't draft WRs in the 1st round to be primarily return specialists nor celebrate any success they might have that doesn't benefit their organization. And deep down, I believe that your really understand that to be the case. And least I hope so.

Trophy please.

Offensive Lineman? Don’t see that happening.Don’t know how you come up with that.
As YOU well know no other positions takes as much time to learn in the NFL coming out of college as OL'ers. Very Rare that inexperienced OL'ers ever play well their first yrs in the NFL. It takes a lot of hard work & time to get them up to speed in order to function as a 5 player smooth operating machine.

Next year @ at this same time Rams OL will be facing FIVE of their OL'ers involved in FA'cy & with an LT, Andrew Whitworth with another season under his belt & past 40 yrs old.

OT Joe Noteboom
Interior OL'er Austin Corbett
Interiro OL'er Brian Allen
Interior OL'er Coleman Shelton
OT/OG Chandler Brewer

2022 NFL Free Agents Tracker | Spotrac

Corbett has been a starter @ OG for two seasons. Noteboom was our initial starting OG for the last two seasons & started 5 gms @ LT in 2020. Allen was Kromer's starting OC in 2019 until he injured his knee & had a long extended rehab event through most of the 2020 season. In 2020 Shelton was our main interior top reserve for OC/OG.

And there are others that I could list who may have been or are starters, but seem to be or have been pretty average at best, IMO.

Meanwhile the Rams have avoided the risk with proven NFL talent.

if you look at 2011 to 2017 (to early for 18 19 20 ) there are a little more than 5 busts per round . that is not to bad if you consider what we have done . we traded picks for peters turned out bad . we trade picks for cooks turned out bad. we traded picks for ramesy that one is working out well but it is still to early to know how that one will work out. i don't remember what we gave foe whit but that one is working out well. there could be more that i don't remember but it looks like some turn out good and some don't. some good is it seems we get alot of comp picks. some bad we miss out on alot of cheap labor. anyway i just don't agree with those that say it is always better to trade for proven players

I took a look at the first round picks in 2011-2014, and I would put a Disappointment Tag on more like 12-14 per year.

Still, I get your point.

All pro on special teams. He wouldn't get drafted before the 4th round if teams knew he'd be a 4 time all pro on special teams but never find his way as a receiver.

Rams probably move on from Floyd but tbh I can't help but hope.
If they lose Floyd I would definitely want to trade Havenstein... maybe even trade Kupp... might get a 2 or maybe a 3 & 5. Will need an extra pick to replace Floyd... Trade Kupp, sign Jones or Golladay.

Maybe even use a Havenstein pick to move up for a top edge guy.

Take a look at the bottom 1/3 of the 1st round this past decade. You'll see that so-called JAGs can be selected in any round.

yes jags can be had in any round but the chances of hitting a very good player when you have 2 first rounders and a 3rd become pretty good and they will be cheap. i have nothing against trading picks for players but we should not give to many picks and over pay them.

Sure, it's not something one would want or can continue to do all the time, but they are still chances vs. a proven veteran playing a key position. You can try to fill a need with that chance, but if he doesn't pan out you may have filled a position with a body, but you still have that need.

IMO, the Rams have played the game well so far in getting compensation back for many if not all of the failed deals.

yeah that seems to be a part of the draft plan and that is good but we don't get back the draft value that we traded away also never got the cheap labor for 4 or 5 years. those comp picks certainly help but what happens if we get the player we want but he get an injury. we have been lucky so far with our trades so i will agree with you that if the right player is there and the price is right we should go get him

Well the Rams never prioritize ILB because that would be crazy right. :ROFLMAO:

But in a way it sort of feels like TE to me where at some point and some offseason they'll actually have things aligned to add one they like. In that divisional round loss to Green Bay we really felt our talent level at ILB. The Rams can keep masking it but damn it would be nice to have an impact guy back there.

We just never seem to be in that range in the draft where you usually get the difference makers at those positions, that late first through mid second round. And of course we're not like the 9ers who can find ILBs under random rocks.

About Alex Mack as a potential FA signing to become Rams C.

He’s 35 years old.

Has 11 years in the league already.

His final contract cap hit was $10.5M this year.

So, here’s my question. Is he still playing at or near his former ceiling? Like, is he a Big Whit type of older stud for the Rams? Not being a smart ass, I’m asking because I haven’t followed him.

if the answer to my last 2 questions is a resounding yes, then I’m fine if they pursue him. But if not, then I’m not even a little bit interested.

Too old.

Too much mileage.

Way too expensive for Rams budget.

If Goff were to win a SB in Detroit, I dont see the Rams getting a pat on the back for picking him 1st

No thanks. I'd actually like to find a solid young, ascending Center who can be here a few years.

If it's true Linsley is gonna shake loose and we really do go all in with the restructuring
iu

then I go after him. Leave Corbett and Evans inside and if Edwards is better than Hav, then trade Hav. If not? Keep Hav.

I just know that having a young stud at C makes so many things easier for the entire OL.

So TB took the win now approach and their defense peaked at the right time to win a Super Bowl. Now with projected $30m in cap space they have decisions on which of Godwin, Suh, David, Barrett, Fournette, Gronkowski, Cockrell, Shipley or Succup to keep. They can’t keep them all.

They still have Brady, so I'm thinking Godwin, Barrett, Gronk and Succop. Suh will do the mercenary thing again, Lavante David is gonna want big money as a 32 yo LB, Fournette was like our CJ Anderson and they already have Jones. I brainfarted who Cockrell and Shipley are... wait... AJ Shipley the OL? I dunno, I need to sleep.

But yeah, we'll see. They may have more moves they can make to retain more. I know they want to retain David. I live in Tampa and the FANS sure want that, no question. David is a massive fan favorite here.

I wanted the Rams to draft David

What does everyone think about Adrian Peterson for our 3rd down back?
