Based on everything, the tweets, my guess is that ED did ask for extra passes for his friends and Fisher called to let him know that was a no go. So ED had a temper tantrum saying that he was banned, when in reality Fisher probably just meant his friends didn't get a free ride. Grow up ED. You want the cheerleaders to give you handies on the sideline too?

Or it was all lies on EDs part, or Fisher's. Sounds like the ship is breaking apart and ED doesn't want Fisher to be the coach anymore either. It's OK for this forum to call and wish for Fisher's demise, but when ED does it it's different? If Kroenke won't listen to the 80,000 fans at the stadium I bet he heard about the discontent from ED. Maybe he is the one that will help put the fork in Fisher or at least get help for the offense?
If somebody has to be lying....I'll take a guess...:huh:

As far as who I trust is telling the truth here... I'd go with ED. I've seen too many instances where Fisher says one thing, then it turns out to be completely different.
Me too.....

I've heard ED in interviews say, "If you don't want the truth, don't ask me...."

Not surprising. Ed doesn't believe in a bunch of people on the staff. He knows football. He is one of the greats. Behind Jack Youngblood, ED is my all-time favorite Ram...

If you think your voice doesn't matter...isn't heard...think again. The public is doing this to Fish...Well, the losing is the start, but the outcry...Stan has to listen to fans out here...And he should.

Sounds like a organization that's cracking under the pressure of being in LA
Probably, more like Cracking under the pressure of knowing, you've blown a season you could have Won, and IF you don't Win the next 5 in a row, you have No chance of keeping your Job! And, I'm Sorry to say, for the Team and the Fans sake, That aint going to happen!

Here is my $0.02.

I know ED fairly well through a mutual friend. He can be pissy (think spoiled athlete), but is a straight shooter. Polar opposite of Jeff Fisher. Fisher is phenomenal at the political side of being a HC. ED doesn't give a crap about any of that.

This is why it would be a non-issue if the Rams were winning, or at least looking good while losing (think Dodgers, you know, except for the Fox-owned days, the Dodgers are doing everything they can to win). But when the team is losing, and looking like it is a direct result of poor decisions by the leadership, the last thing you want is ED in the picture.

I 100% believe that Fish played the "no problem giving you perks, just can't do it with you saying this stuff about us" card, as a quid pro quo. Eric gets his stuff. JF gets less criticism from the icon. The problem is, ED isn't the type to back down for favors. He doesn't play by the same rules, and it blew up in Fish's face.

ED really shouldn't have let this play out in the press if his true goal is supporting the Rams, unless he truly feels a new coach is what they need.

JF really shouldn't have played this card at all. A better choice would have been to further embrace ED, in spite of the hard times, as a way of saying we're in this together and we're not about silencing dissenting opinions.

Fisher is the one with the history of deception and recent increasingly bizarre decisions.

From not tailoring the offense so the #1 pick in the draft could get on the field before the season was nearly lost to making our starting LT a healthy inactive in a must win game on the road.

If anyone needs to be designated as "inactive" it is Fisher at the very moment this season ends.

Fire up the coaching search already and make it all but official.

Dickerson is the biggest legend known to LA rams fans before their stl. louis move.
I Like ED, BUT!! This^ is factually inaccurate! You forget the likes of Bob Waterfield-Norm Van Brocklin-Crazy-Legs Hirsch-Night-Train Lane-Deacon Jones- Merlin Olsen and many, many more!

If we let old retired players dictate how the franchise should be ran just because they feel entitled for having a 'gold jacket' then we have a bigger problem in our hands.
If fisher doesn't want criticism from the public and NFL greats he either needs to do a better job, or find one that is not in the public eye. NFL greats have lots of influence on how teams and the NFL operate, in fact many of them get paid millions of dollars per year to announce and give their opinions on these matters to the public. NFL greats are in the locker rooms with the teams, and in the film rooms and in the team meetings, Fisher said so when he invited Eric, and also stated that Eddie George has been doing that. It's ultimately the fans that allow the NFL to exist, so by saying what you did is the same as fans having no say so in the product that they freely chose to pay for. Ultimately the fans have ALL of the POWER of the purse. No fans, no money, NO Rams.

Yup -- here's KD's olive branch, per PFT:

Rams act fast to fix “miscommunication” with Dickerson

Eager to avoid a PR mess with one of the greatest players in franchise history, the Rams are extending an olive branch to Eric Dickerson.

Shortly after Dickerson said the Rams told him he wasn’t wanted at games in Los Angeles because he has criticized the team on the radio, Rams COO Kevin Demoff took to Twitter to say that if Dickerson heard that, it wasn’t a message the team meant to convey.

“All Rams alumni, and especially Eric Dickerson, are always welcome at our games and practices,” Demoff wrote. “I have reached out to Eric to see where a miscommunication may have occurred & to clear up any confusion over his presence at games. Most importantly I want to make sure he knows that he is a valued member of [the Rams] family. We all share his love for our team & our fans.”

Dickerson, a Hall of Fame running back, was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1983. He has had a long career in broadcasting in retirement and may have ruffled some feathers with the Rams with some of his public comments, but some ruffled feathers are to be expected for a losing team. The Rams are wise to try to quell this controversy.
This doesn't sound like he was "Banned" to me, now I'm really confused!!

If Fisher doesn't want criticism then how about he come out of his coma and at least pretend to be in the game. He has zero motivational skills and little to no ability to improvise. Soon he will have the all-time record for losses as a coach and I say WELL DESERVED!

How can you say Eric Dickerson has his "panties" in a wad like he's some woman, and then ask us to have reverance for Fisher?!

i don't understand the vibe of your post at all

Everyone here supports the Rams!!!!'
What is this about "deserve" ?

The Rams don't "deserve" my support,
I give my support to the Blue and Gold by my Free Will

by the sound of your comment it's clear your personal idea of "support" means something totally different than what it mean to most of us

If you go back and read all the comments you'll see we are all enjoying discussing this topic and have all been doing so both intelligently, rationally, and supportive as well.

But why is this even being discussed? I mean uou yourself mentioned that he eas being asked "tough" questions and responded - one of which was the Dickerson situation - it's cause it's a PROBLEM - a "crap storm" as you put it

You can't look at what's happening on the field to the club/franchise we support and think everything is fine - it's inconsistently inconsistent and all moves made by our HC seemingly go against all logic - like calling up a Hall of Fame player and asking him to not speak his mind.

So with all that aside
Here is my biggest question to you, whether or not you think this is a big deal or not,

#1. Why freak with Eric Dickerson?

Why?
Your opinion does not equate to most of us.

I have not seen any direct quotes from ED but he has no business trashing the team and then talking to the media about the situation. Fisher is being a stand up guy about handling the media and the situation. Most of the posts here came out before Fisher said anything about it. When Fisher was asked about it he denied knowing about it and said ED was welcome in the building and on the field.

If you don't have a hardon for Fisher its easy to take the word of the guy on camera over what someone tweeted that ED supposedly said.

Was just about to post this, I think Eric was right.

"While Fisher, who had Dickerson’s comments read to him by Farmer, didn’t address the specifics, Fisher provided a general explanation of the message that he sent.

“I had a discussion with Eric and it was brought to my attention Eric wanted some things from the organization and it was shortly after he had been critical of us, of me, of the players and of our quarterback coach,” Fisher said. “And there’s a natural conflict there. He has every right to be critical because we’re all frustrated with the respect to the season and he has every right to comment and to be critical. But there’s a line that has to be respected, when you on one side criticize the organization and come back and ask the organization for something.”

why was Eric right? he bitched about everything then asks for favors. gtfoh Eric is a Drama queen always has been if he doesn't get his way he always cries to the public about it. it had nothing to do with his access Eric lied its all in Black and White. he wanted his friends to get on the sideline and fisher said no.
