I look at it differently. The farther a team goes in the playoffs, the more difficult the games become.

However, how a team matches up can be a significant factor. I think the Eagles are the worst team for the Rams to face in all of the NFL. Worse than any AFC team that they could possibly face in the Super Bowl. Poor weather conditions will exacerbate the situation.
It becomes more difficult for everyone. Not just our guys. Iggles won't admit it but I'll bet they were hoping to see the Vikings instead of our team.

This is not good for the Rams. Snow games rely on rushing and the Eagles are the best team in the NFL rushing the ball.

can also be really hard on DBs because they’ll be slipping a lot

I think it just makes coaching more important which is where we have a massive advantage

Snow games are hard to predict. If a ball carrier makes a cut he could slip in the process. But the defender can also slip trying to make a tackle on that cut. I have to think ball carriers won't be running as fluidly in bad weather. Bad weather is the great equalizer when one team is clearly better than the other.

The quarterback contributes probably 30 percent of those yards. If the snow limits the running backs moves it can only help the defense. But our running back will be dealing with the same thing. So it comes down to who has the better game plan for the conditions.

Naional weather service only has a 30% chance of snow for philly... which is strange because a lot of other places have it as 70%.

One thing in our favour is that Stafford has years of experience of playing in the cold against Green Bay and Chicago.
This exact scenario has happened for Stafford already. Hopefully this time goes better.

Or which team has the longest cleats

Didn't realise his record was that bad in adverse conditions. :wow2:
To be fair, he has been on some really bad teams most of his career so can't blame all of that on him at least. The bright side is Philly's biggest weapon is Saquon who might not be as potent in the snow. If it's really bad snow wise it's going to come down to who can make the biggest holes for RBs to run straight ahead through and who can hold on to the ball without fumbling. Snow games have a bit more of luck involved I'd say too.

I wonder what Hurts record/stats are for snow games. He has the advantage of being able to use his feet to generate offense however.

I'll keep saying it, rain or snow, we NEED to take a deep shot with Tutu every game. I bet the success rate is in the 75% range or a completion or PI.

  • Rams have the better head coach and QB. Those 2 things are huge in games like this. Why does KC keep winning super bowls, look no farther than the Coach and QB combo.
  • Eagles O-line is the strength of their team. The Rams Defensive front is the strength of the defense and hopefully good enough to marginalize that strength this time. Strength vs strength
  • With Havenstein back and the line having gelled, I think our Rams line is the most underrated part of the team. Add to that Philly is down 2 key players in the front 7. I like the match-up here. In addition I expect more 12 personnel this time around. Rams need to bully the eagles defensive front.
Rams seem to be peaking at the right time. The win vs Minnesota was the Rams largest margin of victory all year.
The wet niners game and the cold Jets came were good prep for what is to come in philly this weekend.

I was not impressed by Philly against the packers. With all of the breaks that went their way I would have expected a much larger margin of victory.

Seems that all of the pundits are picking Philly to win - They did the same with Minnesota.
I was with you all the way until the last comment.
There was a fair share of predictions in favor of the Rams.
They’re not ALL stupid.
lol.

I do like your analysis, though.

Send Evans ahead to get some practice kicks in.
If the wind is right, there is no place on the field he won't be able to up 3 points! !!! :laugh3:

Hope K-Will and the O-line sees this.
Yeah, so bad that they've given up more than 10 pts in a game only once in their last 5 and have averaged a paltry 8 PA in the other four.

Fuck you, Eliot and your brain-dead shallow-as-a-puddle analysis.

I’ll take any help slowing Saquan and his Oline down.

As Whitworth mentioned, the worst case scenario for the Rams against a great run game is indoors on turf. Olineman footing and RB footing is critical.
