do you think it is more of the manner in which they lost? Because even you would have to admit that was an ugly game
I've never said it wasn't a bad game. And the manner of the win or loss don't matter, hell half the time we still have vent threads in a win. We're going to have a half dozen vent threads but Tuesday as well.

.

Remember the good old days when Kurt would make teams pay dearly if they dared to blitz.

Why don't these Rams have outlets to beat the blitz?

.

I remember those days too. But I also remember Martz - especially after the Rams lost the Super Bowl to the P*ts, getting away from that stuff, doubling and tripling down on the long developing routes and leaving Kurt out there without any extra protection. Got Warner fucking killed ... he ended up getting hurt in 2002 because of Martz trying to get cute and not adapting with him in there. And the majority of Rams fans blamed Kurt, oh no, it couldn't be the coaches fault for putting him in a bad situation ... nooooo they executed that before, they should still be able to execute, and never mind their 7 rushers against our 5 blockers with no dump off or hot read options ... aaaalll Warner's fault.

So what does Martz do when Warner goes out? Totally adjusts everything for Marc Bulger, who looks decent because he's getting the extra protection and better playcalls. Warner comes back later in that year, and Martz goes right back to doing the same shit that got Warner hurt and put him in bad positions time and time again, until of course, he gets hurt again. Martz ended up ruining the best QB the Rams have ever had, who got run out of town on a rail as if he was a washed up bum. And that QB went to a division rival and took them to the Super Bowl and damn near won it, with a coach that set him up for success instead of hanging him out to dry.

I don't care how good your QB is ... if your coach doesn't put him in a good position to be successful, they will struggle. Nobody can doubt Warner's talent or his HOF credentials, but when Martz started putting him in bad situations, repeatedly, he struggled. I hope our current coach learns that lesson. I've been very supportive of him but lately he's got me worried.

@OldSchool fyi.. the vent thread after the niner loss hit 12 pages before it was locked..this one might surpass that

of course we want to bitch and moan after a loss..we are Rams fans and live for the team. When the teams wins, we celebrate and move on to the next opponent.

And I would rather see a 45 page vent thread, than hear about a member of this forum taking out his frustrations on a family member.

Sounds more like people want to bitch than celebrate.

Lakers won. Dodgers won. The Rams laid an egg.....
L.A. is the city of champions... we have a certain standard.

If guys aren't doing their job.... they should get called out.
It would certainly happen to me at my job.

McVay needs to hold these guys accountable and stop being so damn nice

When they win we're all happy and we go do other things. When they lose, we like to bitch. lol. But McVay needs to come up with a plan to beat that damn 6-man front. I watched a replay where they rushed 6 and the Rams only had 5 blockers. Where's the hot read? Screen pass? Draw?

For me I find goffs biggest struggle is navigating the pocket. His ability to feel pressure and step up or slide is not there. He’s amazing when the pocket sets up nicely but it’s those other plays where a lineman gets beat that all the greats make a subtle move to reform the pocket and buy themselves a little extra time to complete passes. By the way I’m not talking about those plays where a free rusher comes through and has a free shot at him. He doesn’t have the athletic ability to avoid those. It’s those other plays with a regular 4/5 man rush where a dline man gets a little bit of leverage and he just steps right into the rush or throws off his back foot. Those frustrate me the most.

Miami manhandled our o line. With absolute authority.
Its as simple as that.

The "fire everyone" attitude is ridiculous.

Hey, we are Kings of the NFC East. Not so much the rest of the league. I’ve never been so close to giving up football. At least this one, I saw coming. The game vs the niners not so much.

On passing plays. On running plays, our D seemed to do fine most of the day ... which is why this one stings a bit worse.

Yeah. It was just a crazy damn day.
Our run blocking is solid. We seem to get 4-5 yards at will. With some larger chunks thrown in here and there.

Our pass blocking still leaves much to be desired.

I know. Which is why I don't understand McVay didn't do what he did against Dallas in the playoffs a couple of years ago and just run it down their fucking throats time and time again until they adjust their D to stop it, assuming they can.

They should cut Josh Reynolds tomorrow for the effort he gave on the fumble run back.
Or at least make him watch DJ Metcalf run down Baker a 100 times.

Blow their asses off the line and create some pressure of the Rams own...pressure on Miami’s D

On Reynolds lazy jog after the fumble , It wasn't just at the end of the run . He was only 5 yards away from him when he first scooped the ball up . Terrible effort

This x1000.

In the first half McVay called screens and got lambasted by the faithful for dumb calls. In the second half drive where we scored he called screens that were properly executed and he was a genius. Truth is somewhere in between the extremes IMO (he ran into another Belichick defense/prep that kicked his ass), but with fans it's always about the play call but rarely about the execution.

Rams' OL had the Dolphins beat up front in the run game. So I agree McVay should have run more. Especially early on. But also you have the DC playing games with him, showing fronts to influence what the Rams do which is check into and out of different plays depending on what the QB sees. The offense is set up for the QB to be able to do all manner of shit there.

I think this was another growing curve game for our QB more than anything else. You can't be turning over the ball. And when you see a defense playing with zero safeties deep in order to bring the blitz that puts pressure on the QB to beat them. Goff struggled and there you have it.

What is so antagonizing, at least to me, about this loss is that we still were in the game up until that drop by Everett and the FG miss. It's fucking maddening.

Yep. I've been Everett's biggest supporter but I'm done with him. I hope we can get a pick for him tomorrow. Too many drops last year and this year and I'm done.

If Goff had one more of these games this year, outside of Tampa which I'm already expecting, all his prior goodwill with me will be used up. That's about the most diplomatic way I can say it.
