Ok cool so now what?

Tough Game, defense played well, when you give up 15 points you should win....Bears defense best in NFL, their linebackers are amazing. McVay has to trust either Davis or Kelly to spell Gurley, so he uses Gurley as often as he should...Goff missing Kupp, needs to find others and the offensive line needs to hold up better in pass protection.

McVay needs to start running some draws or hand offs from the shotgun. Our offense is becoming very predictable. Anytime Goff is in shotgun just send pressure because he’s definitely throwing it. Sleeping on this game, I think the defense played more then good enough. The run defense is going to hurt us come playoff time.

Super disappointed in Brockers this year. He’s just not anywhere near good enough.

Exactly. Davis and Kelly offer fresh legs and a different look.
Without Kupp we need to use more 2 TE sets and be much more multiple in our run game designs.
That should open our play action game back up too and help this sluggish and old looking O-line.

I'm not reading through this...what our second vent thread of the season. I can’t imagine how some of you reacted in 1999 (if you were even born yet) when the RAMS lost back to back games on their way to a Championship. This is the NFL boys, good teams get beat especially on the road in a hostile environment not playing the way we're used to seeing them play. Sometimes you have to take your lumps, limp home and regroup. Sure this loss to the Bears is a punch in the mouth but you have to pick yourself up dust yourself off and get back to playing good football and that is what I expect from this team. Philadelphia is up next.

GO RAMS

GOFF IS ELITE AND MCVAY IS MY COACH

With that said, last night was like watching Mike Martz circa 2004. I dont understand all of the 5 and 7 step drop backs when you're behind and your QB is struggling because he's under constant pressure. I dont understand the lack of motion, jet sweeps, etc. I mean Brandin Cooks is one of the fastest players in the NFL and we didnt use him in the run game. I also would've liked to see more outside runs or screens featuring Gurley.

The game got away from McVay, but it's alright. We're 11-2 with the struggling and injured Philly birds coming to our house. I have faith that McVay and Goff will both respond with an amazing game.

Big difference in 99, the losses to the Titans and Lions were close and Warner was not picked off 4 times in either of those games. However, I'm not overrating, coaching staff needs to adjust and McVay needs to trust the backups to Gurley, IMO, it is effecting his play calling because he does not want to overuse Todd, needs to either trust Davis or Kelly moving forward.

They need to attack the middle of the field more, miss Kupp for this, but not one pass to Higbee...The bright side is Wade has the defense playing better, but not as good as the Bears or the Saints.

No Malcom Brown. No Cooper Kupp. Cold. Wonder how much all this affected McVay? Maybe he can explain a bit today about what the strategy was...

Time to put this wreck in the rear view mirror ..

OK, So I just woke up all night it felt like 2016. Please tell me it's not

You mean Gurley's 5 net yards in his first 6 carries (before) he scratched out a few more yards late in the 4thQ? Or Gurley's 2.2 average yards per carry overall?
We are a play action football team. How is the play action gonna work when mcvay REFUSES to use the best offensive player in football?
That will make him Marty 2.0 whole lot of wins.....no championships.
No excuse for forgetting you have a Todd Gurley especially in 28 degree weather.
This was mcvay worst called game as a ram. It was embarrassing to say the least.

It almost seems as if McVay outcoached himself in this one. Everytime the ball was snapped, I kept thinking "Ok, NOW we are going to run the ball." And it almost felt as if McVay thought the Bears were thinking the same thing. Therefore, he just kept trying to surprise them with the constant passing play calls.

Completely agree on how mcvay calls plays out of shotgun. It's almost always a pass play.
That's how you put goff in a bad position. If fans can see this does mcvay not think professional coaches and players can't?
Come on mcvay you're way better than what I saw last night.

After Goff missed a wide open Woods in the first series by almost 5 yards, I knew we were in for a bad night.

Goff just can't throw with the gloves he is wearing.

He was so off. I could count on one hand how many passes Goff threw accurately to his receivers last night.

Good thing he wasn't drafted by a cold weather team.

So the last two games

1) First game - Goff appeared to be under the weather and couldn't think straight (he made so many bad decisions)
2) Second game - Goff had gloves on.

I think we will be fine when we reach the playoffs and only have to go on the road to possibly play the saints who play in a dome. And I think we can beat the Saints with Talib playing.

We will definitely win 2 of our last 3 games to get a first round bye.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear but that wasn’t my point. I was going off the first few pages of this thread, and some of the reactions were over the top. I was using the 99 season as a reference that good teams even great teams lose to teams that you would think they should beat. I get it, Goff, the OL, McVay, the team in a hole looked like crap last night, but it happens to the best of them and the good ones bounce back and I see this team as a good team.
