Ok cool so now what?

We be thankful that this shit happened now instead of in the playoffs. It's a wake up call. McVay will hopefully learn from this game. The Vikings stomped us last year just like the Bears did this year. What happened the next time McVay played the Vikings? We destroyed their defense. It felt like he had an answer to everything they tried to do. You know he's going to obsess over this game. If we see the Bears again in LA, I have a feeling it's going to be a very different experience.

The one potential positive we have is that the defense seems to be rounding into form with Talib back. The run defense still sucks ass, but our pass defense looks so much better.

Idgaf what some stats from a beatdown show.
I can see with my own eyes that tackling and swarming to the ball has been an improvement.
Our D is improving as the season goes.

I am not sure what, other than bitch and overreact, some posters want from the rest of us.

Every team gets beat bad sometimes.

Exactly where I am with all this right now.

I only saw the first half, but if someone told me that we would only score a couple of field goals then i would laugh in their face.

Goff needs to pull himself together quickly.
I echo what some have said about the DL; if Donald is being double teamed, even triple teamed, then why cant Suh or Brockers get their hands on the QB?

Not really going on a rant, we are still in good position, and credit should be given to the Bears.

Have faith.

I’m sure we’ll hear a lot of self depreciation during McVays post game.

One thing McVay always does is take responsibility

Yup and this time he's also got some "splainen" to do. If he (McVay) still regrets the playoff loss last season, wait until he gets a load of this evenings regrets tomorrow morning.

As for McVay taking responsibility....always an admirable and mature quality. However, I hope he's learned just one thing from this experience................................................................................................................................"Just Win Baby."

Seriously, I'd love to see this team at GSOT level, but they're not at least not yet. The win loss point differential clearly illustrates that. At best they're most probably closer to 4th in the league at present and 2nd in the conference. However, I take little solace from that position as descent defenses appear all that's necessary to beat or neutralize the Rams so called potent offense and yes, today's loss was absolutely offensive.

Finally as the old saying goes; "offense gets you into the playoffs, but defenses win titles. We've seen the results of the offense, but exactly when does this defense step up to its "potential?"

It seems like with Suh across from the RT, they just stay out of his lanes of responsibility, let Donald rush up-field and then run up his vacated lane where Littleton and Barron can't bring down the ball carrier without riding him 5 yards down the field after begining their tackle.
I dont know how much worse Kiser would be in the pass game, but we must get sturdier in the middle of our D.

You mean Gurley's 5 net yards in his first 6 carries (before) he scratched out a few more yards late in the 4thQ? Or Gurley's 2.2 average yards per carry overall?

I get this 100%.

At the same time abandoning the run didn't work. My guess is it probably wouldn't have made a difference if Gurley ran the ball 25 times. We do not know though.

It's a funny thing but I think the warning signs on offense have been there for a few weeks now. We get out of rhythm very easily, and Goff gets out of sink and starts sailing passes occasionally (or where he feels pressure - his release is a little early and his feet arent set and the pass sails high - thats a mental and mechanical issue I'm sure he's aware of and is working on). But the more concerning long-term thing is that we don't seem to like playing in cold weather - we're a finesse team and it goes out of whack in cold temps. Home field advantage in the playoffs is huge because of this.

Goff is still heading toward elite, and is a top 5 QB in the NFL---system or not.
Rams need to be more physical at the ILB and SS position....that has been known, despite what PFF says (LOL).

Rams will bounce back with a great win next week. Wentz is great, but Rams need to beat a decent team before the playoffs.

I had said the Rams may not go past the first round, now we see why.....Dallas, Seattle and the Bears are dangerous for the Rams.

MAN OH MAN: Wade--> why not Kiser???? as we dominate Trubisky and need to stop the run!

New Orleans Saints at St. Louis Rams - October 28th, 2001
Warner throws 4 ints and Rams lose.

Bad games happen to the best of them.

Come-on 69, you know as well as I do that this team is not comparable to the GSOT statistically or performance wise (both sides of the ball) although I'll give a nod to special teams play. Point totals are up with the current rules, but the level of play and margins of victory are not really comparable.

Warner and company were a sudden strike offense, it almost seemed like most drives only required 3 or 4 plays. I know the majority weren't actually that quick, but it almost seemed that way as they could strike so suddenly, "lightening in a bottle" I called it at the time although GSOT would eventually win out, I kinda liked the lightening thingy, lol.

Goff and company resemble the GSOT (at times) or did earlier in the season, but that shine has faded recently, as you now must go back to week 7 in order to see a convincing winning margin.

Well, that was a shocker. It's not that we lost, it's that we had NO answers. McVay should be worried.

McVay needs to reevaluate how we run the ball as a team. Something just doesn't seem right...I can't put my finger on it, but Gurley just doesn't seem to hit the LOS with much space, or burst. The plays look dead early on. Do we need to sprinkle in some more jet sweeps? More runs out the gun? Something is needed, because we looked predictable and sluggish.

For those saying we abandoned the run. Nah, we sucked at running the ball, therefore we had no choice but to pass...which coincidentally, we also sucked at :ROFLMAO:

All in all. A nightmare of a game. Shit happens. On to next week, and pray that the Saints drop another game on the way, because this team will not beat a Saints team at home, in the playoffs.

Suh has really been a disappointment. He was one on one all night against the Bears and was getting neutralized with ease. We need to find a pass rush outside of Donald.

this was the most worrying part about the game.

i'm just gonna put it down to the bears wanted it more and the rams couldn't lift up a gear.

.

We've done that multiple times. We pasted the Eagles last year (and still lost). We pasted the Vikings and Chargers this year.
I'm iffy on the Vikings and chargers being top defenses this year

The 2018 Rams won't be the last fair weather team to look like complete crap on a frigid night.

Would have liked to see more screens and some draw plays tried since opponent's pass rush was so difficult to contain.

The Ram's dreadful run D (194 yards given up at 5.5 a pop) concerns me much more than Goff.
