Those also were some absolutely shitty teams with the best record being the first year of 7-9. I get the numbers don't look good but the roster likely has a lot to do with that. How often on bad teams are the ST's filled with talent. Hell 2021 alone they had multiple kickers and punters.
Fish used to put the bottom of the roster up for grabs to the teams squad and tell them before the final practices to go win a job. Terrible head coach but he gave his ST coach every advantage in picking his boys.

McVay has areas he needs to do better. Teams is one of them so hope he hits on this hire.

Could part of the Rams STs struggles be on the players? They have a lot of day three picks and UDFA types on that squad since they start a lot of mid rounders on offense and defense.

Seems like they've drafted several Special Teams studs from college. But just not working out when they get here.

Coniglio is in his second year at the Naval Academy and his first coaching the strikers and raiders. Coniglio served as a defensive assistant last year.

In 2021, despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the country, the Navy defense acquitted itself well by finishing 32nd in the nation in rushing defense (130.4 yards per game), 51st in passing defense (218.2 yards per game), 34th in total defense (348.6 yards per game) and 34th in red zone defense (.778).

Coniglio came to Navy from Kent State, where he was the outside linebackers and defensive recruiting coordinator since 2019.

Coniglio helped lead the Golden Flashes to their first bowl win in school history with a 51-41 victory in the 2019 Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl.

In 2020, Kent State finished 3-1 in a COVID-shortened season.

Coniglio spent three seasons at Kent State from 2009-2011, while earning a master’s degree. His roles included special assistant to the head coach, defensive graduate assistant, video coordinator and defensive volunteer. Working closely with the Flashes’ defensive line, Coniglio helped develop future NFL players Roosevelt Nix, Ishmaa’liy Kitchen and Monte Simmons. During that period, Kent State’s defense ranked in the top tier of numerous NCAA categories, including 10th in the nation in total defense in 2010. In 2011, the Flashes ranked 21st in total defense, while the 2009 squad was fourth in tackles for loss and 17th in sacks.

Coniglio was the defensive line coach at Northern Michigan in 2012-13 and worked with current Navy defensive coordinator Brian Newberry, who served as the defensive coordinator there in 2012.

Coniglio spent five seasons at Rhode Island, where he served as defensive line coach, special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator.

Rhode Island was also among national (FCS) leaders in numerous defensive categories during Coniglio’s time with the Rams. In 2017, Rhode Island was the only defensive line in the nation to have five players with five or more sacks and 10 or more tackles for loss. The Rams broke the program’s sack record that season and produced their third different all-conference player during Coniglio’s time. In 2018, URI ranked 31st in the FCS in total defense.

On special teams, the 2018 Rams ranked in the top 20 in punt return defense, kick return average and punt return average. Coniglio also brought recruiting success to URI in 2016, when the Rams ranked first in the Colonial Athletic Association according to 247 Sports.

A two-time All-Mid-American Conference defensive end at Miami, Coniglio was a three-year starter and three-year winner of the RedHawks’ Vic Waltz Defensive Lineman of the Year award. Coniglio helped Miami win three MAC East titles and ranks fifth among the program’s sack leaders. He was also a roommate of RedHawk teammate Sean McVay, who has led the Los Angeles Rams to two Super Bowls (2018 and 2021) and won Super Bowl championship (2021)

Coniglio and his wife, Jessa, have a daughter, Anna, and two sons, Joseph and Matthew.

Is Shula on the outs?
He did interview for the Eagles DC Job so maybe he's getting the job. Otherwise not sure what's going to happen with Shula, maybe he ends up joining that staff in some capacity.

Thinking the same thing. He sort of got ACED out.Thinking u is r was weird having him as a DB’s coach.

You were high on Cooley, but I know you’ve always liked Aubrey.Should be a good change in coaching staff.

The 2022 CStaff seemed like low energy. In Training Camp Ram Fans will see the difference.Lake should be a interesting piece with the DB group.

The RB coach is my concern.Ready for a bigger RB to join Cam Akers & Williams. The should be ready to go.

Adding a bigger TE,and a TE for the future.I could tell you The Rams didn’t address those positions last season & Really needs to be a focal point as well.

Les Snead has missed on to many picks(draft),The fact The Rams drafted Tutu Atwell & then signed A”Robinson as a Top FA shows they wanted to have aSolid WR group.Yarborough & Zac Robinson really need to have that group playing at a High Level.

—Gains & Robinson are FA. I like The Brown Bro’s,but are they going to be READY. I’m not convinced they can replace those guys.Eric Henderson is a GREAT DLine coach & AD99 is going to BE Hungry!! Johna Williams I think might get CUT? 97 Hoeht will be a solid EDGE in a part of a Rotation.
—Will see how good this New OLB/DE coach Mcvay is bringing.

Looks like a solid resume. And fit for McVay.

But they hired an O-Line coach ... Ryan Wendell.

Are you looking for Benton, at 59, as a senior consultant, like Greg Olson was?
