No blue font needed. I'm betting this signals we won't take an OT early - i.e. before round 3.Well that seals it. We're definitely not taking an OT in the draft now.
Something that's been noodling around in my head, really appreciate Dedich coming in for Dotson but boy did the run game take a hit.So back he's the up RT and OG, draft a developmental LT, then along with Dedich, and Limmer, you have your top 9 OL. Maybe add another IOL or two. Then if someone surprises, even Quessonberry or Limmer could be gone.
Avila is entering his last year of his contract as is Dotson and Shelton. They are probably looking to extend Dotson which could spread his cap hit over another 3-4 years and bring down his cap hit for 2026 from the current 17 million. Hopefully they can get Avila signed to an extension that will keep him around for an additional 3 years. I think they will definitely address the IOL depth and hopefully could get a true center who can also play guard to replace Shelton in the future. Shelton has played well and he has great rapport with Stafford but I think a true center would solidify the middle of the line. Who knows maybe Evans will take a leap in year 3. He was a savior in his first year and hardly saw the field in year 2. Look how well McClendon responded after a couple of years as a backup. So back he's the up RT and OG, draft a developmental LT, then along with Dedich, and Limmer, you have your top 9 OL.
